Yeah he is, but everyone was expecting it to be a button disaster, career mistake and it would be the end of him. He's still in touching distance of leading he title, has done already this season, and he's done it in his first season. I think Hamilton is the best on the grid. Its a huge achievement to be that close to him in his first season there. Top drivers, both of them.

The fact that the stewards think there were team orders but the points stand is just ****ing ridiculous. Shambles!Originally posted by Djimi Cruyff View Post****ing disgrace that was today.

Going against the grain here but I think alot of todays reaction is overplayed cos its Ferrari, amongst Brits anyway who would obviously favour Maclaren.Theres been a few ridiculous decision by stewards this season and more than once Ferrari ended up on the wrong end of it.Originally posted by Operation View PostThe fact that the stewards think there were team orders but the points stand is just ****ing ridiculous. I think that has played a part in what they felt they needed to do today and I for one am happy they got away with it,even though I think the drivers should have been allowed race for a while longer,Alonso clearly had the pace to get past and there were 20 laps left to do it.
Every team on the grid regardless of what they say has a favoured driver and when it gets down to the nitty gritty all of them will do what they can to ensure the favoured one gets the most points. It would be stupid to do anything else and risk winning nothing in the interests of "fairness".Drivers are paid to do whats best for the team, not themselves, so if the team wants one to win cos he has the best chance of landing a title then thats entirely their perogative IMO.Last edited by G; 25-07-10, 09:30 PM.

Just a small part from the Sky Sports Report
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali also insisted there were no team orders and that it was Massa's decision to let Alonso past.
"We gave information to the driver and it was his decision to decide how to react," he said.
Domenicali added that Smedley's apology was simply due to the fact that Massa's car was not as fast as Alonso's.
"You have to consider that fact that he gave the information to Felipe to help him, and was sorry that his car was not as fast," he added.
For his part, Smedley claimed that Massa lost out to Alonso after making a mistake.
"I don't expect any penalties whatsoever because Alonso was just faster and Massa made a small mistake when shifting up three gears at once," he told Germany's Sky Sports.
What a complete load of ****, Massa hesitated on going to full throttle so Alonso could pass him
It's one of the things that really pisses me off about Alonso, he seems incapable of passing his team mates and constantly gets on the radio making snide comments to make the team ask them to move over. If he was so much faster yesterday then he should have been able to cruise past him, even Vettel couldn't pass Massa at the end of the raceWe managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

I really have lost a lot of respect for the Ferrari team. If I was Massa I wouldn't want to be part of this team next season.Originally posted by meffin View PostDidnt realise it was a year to the day of massas accident. I cant believe they denied him a win on that day!!
BTW, did anyone watch Top Gear last night? Ayrton Senna...

Yes, for once it was a half decent. The Senna piece was superb. That was serious driving back then.

I can't post it on here as I can't see YouTube at work, but try searching for Nelson Piquet's accident at Tamburello, the same corner where Senna died. Its shocking to watch, he was incredibly lucky to walk away from that. Barrichello's accident on the same race weekend where Senna and Ratzenberger died was pretty horrific as well.
Interesting to note as well that when they undressed Senna following his death, they found the Austrian flag in his sleeve. He must have been intending to wave it in honour of Ratzenberger. Kind of backs up the human side Top Gear were highlighting last night. Complete and utter hero in my eyes.
