I always considered cricket to be like, you watch for an hour and you get about 3 mins of anything actually happening.

The expression on the bowler's face when his fielder dropped that catch, was a picture
20 20 is also a good form of cricket to get into if your new to it as that only lasts for a day and is quick.

Yeah, but surely that kind of focus and concentration is part of the difference between someone who is a professional international cricketer, and someone who isnt?

Do you mean in trouble, as in its a dangerous game to play? Or in trouble legally, in terms of it breaking some kind of rule in cricket?

Strauss lucky as **** there, the fielder was in a world of his own there.
Yeah very dangerous game to play. If you're just prodding around looking to survive you won't get anywhere. Need to score runs.

It'll only get more exciting as today goes on, and tomorrow if we get that far. We could yet collapse in double quick fashion - it's happened a thousand times before.

Aye, i've been told that before.

This isnt going too slow though, it's alright.

Just the time-zone issue, that's the problem. I'm knackered

Yeah, but so does having your balls put through a cheese-grater Or, so i'm told

What i dont get is, how can they get all out for 260, and now just a pair of them have managed half of that previous total without much trouble?

I know it depends on how you perform, but they must've been shockingly ****e in the first innings.

And Strauss - i know **** all about cricket, but he looks a very good player/batter.

Is he specifically a batter, or is he an all-rounder?

Its al to do with the wicket. On the first day it had a bit of moisture in it but now its dry and cracked. Also the hat trick played a massive part in our downfall on day one. Things like that are very uncommon.

Right, another bit of education needed here

Shaggy said they'd bowl 90 overs per day - 30 morning, 30 afternoon and 30 evening....

So far, england's two bowlers have faced 260 balls this morning. And 30 overs would be 180 balls...and surely 180 balls/30 overs wouldnt take as long as the whole morning?

                        So what gives?

Because there was rain on the first day and a number of overs were lost, so they started early today and yesterday to try and make up for lost time.

Strauss is a pure batsman/opener. He doesn't bowl.

Oh and 30 overs generally is one session, which is two hours play. Often they don't get all 30 overs in.

50 up for Cook, well played

                                Ah ok, thanks for that.

Commentator just said one over left before lunch - is 'lunch' a few hours and then they're back?

I take it you're not sticking it out for the middle session?
