What a start to Italy! Button is in much better form than Hamilton, he's the team leader at McLaren now, surely. He just showed Hamilton how to pass cars there with Schumacher. Brilliant stuff.

I agree Button is a superb driver and probably the best overtaker in F1 just now, yet he doesn't seem to get anywhere near the adulation Hamilton does?

He did have years of being an underachieving playboy arse though. He's grown up now and has matured into one of the best drivers around. Hamilton seems to be going through a bit of that. I remember being a total playboy in my twenties as well, it goes with the territory. Money, girls, parties - its intoxicating.

Pole on a track where there are next to no overtaking opportunities and his team mate right behind him, unless one of the McLarens gets past into the first corner then there's no chance of him cocking this one up, championship over

You have to tip your cap to him, even though he's got the best car out there he keeps pulling out these stunning laps in qualifying to put himself in the best possible position for race day

He's been brilliant, Vettel. All credit to him. He's maximised is opportunities and has become the best driver on the grid. Bit boring though, isn't it?

Well done Seb, worthy champion and it was never in any doubt for a long time. Seems like a really nice guy in the interviews as well, so its kind of hard to begrudge him his titles when we have a tantrum prone prime donna as our best hope of taking it off him(although thats debatable now given Button's better form this season).

Yeah, Vettel took F1 by storm this season absolutely phenomenal performance.

Looking forward to next season. Will be interesting to see how McLaren and Ferrari respond as Red Bull seem able to achieve 1st places and Poll positions at will. Hamilton needs to sort himself out, he seems to have totally lost his way, so much talent, such a poor attitude.

It will never happen, but I'd love to see Button in a Red Bull.

Good to see Lewis back on the top step after the **** season he's had even if this weekends love in between him and Alonso has been a bit weird.

I really hope next year McLaren and Ferrari have a car to take the fight to Red Bull from the first race.

They respect each other as top drivers, that much is apparent. But yeah, good to see him back where he belongs, hopefully now the former lapdancer has gone, he'll get back to being the top man. Alonso was also brilliant today, has to be said.

I don't see Nicole as being the problem, he's just made some strange career decisions, god knows why he chose Simon Fuller as his Agent, the smart choice would have been Martin Brundle IMO

But like you say it's good to see him back on the top step, hopefully there will be more competition for the podium next season if Ferrari and McLaren can catch up with Red Bull, i think it was mentioned yesteday that only 5 drivers have been on the podium all season, Vettel, Webber, Hamilton, Button and Alonso, F1 needs more competition for places than that

Hats off to Alonso, stunning drive in a car that isn't really competitive but he's been dragging it round to some decent finishes recently

I'm very surprised that the extra money Eccleston gets from Sky for this outways the loss of sponsor revenue due to the loss of audience.
