I have said it before that Khan has been kept away from big punchers and now that his fight against Algieri has been confirmed if people still can't see that is the case then I give up. What a ridiculous fight. Khan has been banging on about the need for Kell to fight the big names yet he chooses Algieri! He won't be getting the winner of Mayweather Pacquiao even if he beats Algieri now. Not a chance.

Dunno why people are so down on the Alegri fight. He's a decent enough boxer. People certainly weren't laughing when he beat Provodnikov.

                EDIT

Just read it's on May the 30th. Expect Hearn and Sky to package this as part of a PPV double header :Shake:

He's a glorfied welterweight. Lets not forget he moved up a weight division to fight Pacquiao. Once again yet another opponent who is not a true welterweight that Khan is facing. He is decent but don't kid yourself into thinking this fight gets him the Mayweather Pacquiao fight because it won't. i would laugh my arse off if the winner of Mayweather v Pacquaio fought Kell next. I would pay good money just to see the expression on Khan's face at the fight being announced.

Well thats exactly it, "he's decent" and cant punch, another no risk, pointless fight where we learn nothing about him. Showtime have turned down the fight, "I'm massive in 'murica dontyaknow"

Alegri beating Provodnikov got him the Pacquio fight.
Maidana got the Mayweather fight on the back of beating Broner senseless for 12 rounds.

Not silly to suggest that Khan may face the winner of Mayweather / Pacquio if/when he beats Alegri and barring a rematch between those two.

Certainly bigger than Kell at the moment.

If as some are saying this fight is part of Uncle Eddies PPV extravaganza at the end of May then it may very well be the case he's doing Eddie a favor in return for a stadium fight with Kell at the end mid to late August.

And how many fights had Maidana fought at welterweight before he faced Mayweather? Have you forgotten he also won the wba belt so put himself in a strong position to fight Mayweather? His resume is also a lot better than Algieri who has had just one fight at welterweight . Not to mention he is feather fisted. I'm sorry but I will eat my own hat if Khan fights either Floyd or Manny next on the back of beating Algieri. He would have had a better chance had he fought and beaten Brook but he's ducked him.

Not a chance Khan is fighting in August. Ramadan finishes middle of July.

                                Ducked Kell? Bro!!!!!

He should have taken the Broner fight, great for his PR, but as for Kell he is still pretty much irrelevant at the moment.
