I was talking to some Irish bloke at one of my daughters tennis matches yesterday
This guy was insisting that MacGregor would paste Mayweather "he was an amateur boxing champ dont you know"
FLMAO well thats got me convinced an amateur boxing champ is likely to beat one of the best pound for pound boxers ever
He won a Dublin novice championship at 15 or 16. Then by the time he turned 17 he stopped boxing.
****ing embarrassing the way he is being spoken of here in Ireland at times. You would swear he had an amateur background akin to someone like GGG the way his boxing background is being spoken of.
His MMA background stands up to scrutiny, but his boxing background does no stand up to scrutiny at amateur level let alone at ATG level in the pro ranks.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I love McGregor, really is one of my favourite MAMA fighters. But I spoke the other day to someone who compared his experience so far to that of Lomachenko, and reckons he could have the same impact.
I've never seen so many people display such a level of delusion purely on the basis of disliking someone. The funny thing is most people in the general public barely knew who Mayweather was prior to the Pacquiao fight, they then bought into the hype expecting a combination of Hagler, Tyson and Chavez Sr in one fighter, then inexplicably proclaimed Manny the winner with 'inexplicable judging' despite many of them never watching a fight in their lives.
Now McGregor's going to beat him... It's pure lunacy. Unless something insane happens, like a disqualification etc there's only one way that's going down. Freddie Roach was talking about it a few weeks, saying that if McGregor came into his gym he'd force him to train with the amateurs and there's no way any reasonable boxer would come close to losing to him, let alone Mayweather. Some guy the other day was telling me that McGregor definitely hits harder than Cotto, Canelo and Maidana haha and this will be the first time Floyd will be in there with a real puncher. Can't wait to see their reaction when they realise that Mayweather hits harder than McGregor...
Oh and on Manny, there were competitive rounds in the fight which could have gone either way but in reality its hard to give Horn more than 4 (maybe 5 if you stretch it). Even then Pacquiao wins, I'd have scored the 9th 10-8, even though there wasn't a knockdown it was completely one sided. Even though the scorecard represented robbery, Manny should consider his future. An opponent of that calibre shouldn't be pushing him like that and he's definitely declined greatly. He had him badly hurt and couldn't close the show. May be best to hang them up. 5 years ago that would have been done and dusted within 8-10 rounds. Horn did well, but I suspect he'll meet his match when he takes on another decent welterweight. Even if he has a rematch. His attempted goading of Floyd is pityful. I saw the state of his face when he was speaking on the news today and even though that's no means to judge a boxing match on, it tells a story on its own.
