Like that Shankly quote on Tommy Smith - he wasn't born he was quarried. Look at others taking a similar shot from Canelo but GGG kept coming forward.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI thought Triple G showed a decent chin here

In two minds about this - Haye consistently lets us down, and the first fight was a sham...but it was mostly a sham because Haye got that injury. And second fight would be a bit of a panto too, but I would like to see Haye spark Bellew tbf.

This suggests he wants to win a belt FFS :hah:
Flintoff's attempt being part of a show for Sky still made it a sham imo. He is a likeable ****er unlike Ferdinand, but was still a case of a has been trying to cash in and it still makes boxing look, to people who do not follow it in any way or form, like some inferior sport that retired cricket players and retired footballers can take part in just with a few months training.
Ferdinand's shyte is worse as him competing for a British title would devalue that belt. Think I am just in roll eyes mode after McGregor in August and now Ferdinand jumping on the bandwagon.
Hope Ferdinand gets his head taken off if he gets put in a competitive fightI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I must admit, my stance towards Ferdinand softened after watching that documentary about him facing up to the death of his missus, and the effect it had on their kids.
But I don't see why he'd want to become a pro boxer. He's surely got a lot to lose, and plus, those same kids who have had to suffer the loss of their mum now have to watch their dad fight. Or at least have knowledge of it. He doesn't need the cash, so I just don't see the point.Modifying post.

It's probably that competition withdrawal that a lot of retired sportsmen go through. I get that, but it does devalue boxing starting at 38 ffs. Also, this is for a TV documentary too.
It is understood Ferdinand’s training will be filmed for a TV documentary series and that he will aim to have his first fight as its concluding episode. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Ok, yeah it's basically the same as Flintoff as Jaco said then.
Yeah, it totally devalues boxing and that a skill that boxing is more than capable of doing on its own.
I'll probably watch it though

Mandini managed that competitive withdrawal symptom thing by playing competitive mice doubles tennis, that seems a much more sensible option.Modifying post.

it would have been made better without that pathetic love in at the end of the fight. Going to look a bit stupid now when the faux hate starts again.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostIn two minds about this - Haye consistently lets us down, and the first fight was a sham...but it was mostly a sham because Haye got that injury.
