I'd say the cut was genuine only explanation other than that for me is him being undercooked and looking to delay the fight to get some extra time in for the fight ( I doubt this though)

I meant any of it. Why would he?!Originally posted by Sarb View PostNot this, but the cut eye on the eve of the original fight. Maybe he just doesn't want to fight anymore. Don't see why he came back anyway personally.
Agree this is a possibility - maybe playing for time. But he has zero reason to be scared of Fury. It would've been a big step up in class for the big lump and I strongly suspect Haye would've boxed his head off.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostI'd say the cut was genuine only explanation other than that for me is him being undercooked and looking to delay the fight to get some extra time in for the fight ( I doubt this though)Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Have to laugh at Fury tweeting about whether the brothers would be willing to fight him. Just his usual cheap tactic of trying to talk himself up to a level of bout without having to actual work his way to it in the ring.
Personally I would like to see him in with either brother (although time is very quickly running out for anyone to have a fight with Vitali) as Fury would very quickly find out the diffence between a top class heavy and an average fighter.
The scary thing is that given how poor the heavyweight division actually is at present, there has to be a chance of a guy like Fury getting one of the less regarded belts at some point.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I don't think it would to be honest.Originally posted by PTP View Post****ing **** this
we spoke the other day about the heavyweight division being ****e but at least this fight would have been worth watching
I reckon Haye would sort him our within 6 rounds, if that. It's a shame really. I certainly don't think he's running though. The times they are a changin'.

who knows? just seemed to have a lack of any talent - maybe the klitchko's have killed it off a bit as there is noone around that looks like competiting with them and it's not because they are 'so' good...ie it's not like they are going to remembered like Ali, Tyson, Lewis etci own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think history will be kind to the brothers. They will never the seen as being on the same level as the likes of Ali, Tyson etc., but I could easily see them being seen as being on the next tier down with the likes of Larry Holmes, George Foreman etc.
I think they are good enough to have given any heavyweight from any eraa good fight and that the number of past heavyweights that would have been heavy favourites to beat them would be a small one.
The brothers are not "exciting" fighters to watch, and outside of the ring they don't get involved in scandals so they are not as "colourful" as other fighters, but if we are to talk about skills, technique, physical abilities etc., then the brothers are right up there and would defo be in the top 20 of all time in my eyes, and most likely in the top 15.I don't hate people. All the "bigger" fighters these days are all around the welter/middleweight divisons.
i think the fact that the lower weights can go up and down weights as well helps as it mixes it up - it means that you have a good pool of boxers across 4 or 5 divisions mixing it up.
Heavyweights got nowhere to go apart from the odd cruiserweight stepping up.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Dwight Muhammad Qawi and Carlos de Leon would have to be on any crusierweight best of list long before David Haye to be fair. Not that Haye was anything less than a very good cruiserweight, but Qawi and de Leon were genuine world class crusierweights at a time when that division would have had five or six men in the top ten that would all have been in and around the world class tag.
The mid to late 80's saw the cruiserweight division have a bit of a bumper crop of quality fighters.
A cruiser list without Qawi and de Leon would be like a middleweight list without Monzon. (obv not comparing those two to Monzon in terms of quality, but rather in terms of their standing in their best weight division)Last edited by Doc_Piptorious; 18-11-13, 02:43 PM.I don't hate people.
