Kell Brook to fight Shawn Porter in California in August
Kell Brook's fight for the IBF welterweight title against Shawn Porter has been set for 16 August in Carson, California.
The Sheffield fighter, unbeaten in 32 bouts, had previously been expected to face Porter on 6 September.
Brook, 28, beat Mexican Alvaro Robles in March to set up the clash with American Porter.
The 26-year-old retained his belt by stopping Paulie Malignaggi in the fourth round of their bout in April.
Brook has previously stated that should he beat Porter he would like to face fellow Briton Amir Khan before the end of the year.
Khan said in May that he thought the Sheffield fighter "lacks the bottle" to take on the American, who is unbeaten in 25 fights.
"After winning this title my name will be huge in the welterweight division and I will meet Amir in December," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"The public has had a taste for a big British fight with Froch and Groves at Wembley. The numbers that turned out and watched on pay-per-view were unbelievable.
"This is a fight that is there to gel."

George Groves can banish his Wembley woes when he returns against Christopher Rebrasse in a final WBC title eliminator on September 20th.
The Londoner suffered a crushing defeat against bitter rival Carl Froch in the national stadium, but will head to Wembley Arena for his crucial comeback clash.
Victory over Rebrasse will earn 'The Saint' a shot at the WBC title, currently held by Sakio Bika, who defends against Anthony Dirrell on August 16.
Groves signed for Sauerland promotions ahead of his rematch with Froch and has remained in world contention, despite failing to take the WBA and IBF belts from the Nottingham man.
His French opponent, the European champion, has a respectable record with 22 wins and just two defeats, but has not fought at the same level as the Hammersmith man.
Groves has twice faced Froch, suffering a contentious defeat in the first meeting before 'The Cobra' cleared up the controversy with an eighth round stoppage win in May.

In regards to that being a title eliminator, despite the inactivity and promotional issues Andre Ward suffers; I still can't believe that he's not a champion in a division where Abrahams and Sakio Bika hold belts. Don't get me wrong, they're good fighters probably more top 10 contenders, maybe even worth a portion of a title in a weak weight class, but when you have Andre Ward, one of the best in the world P4P and they're holding belts, it's really ridiculous.
I'd rather see Kessler take them out during his ressurgance, than see them hold onto their belts or see Groves or Rebrasse (who?!) get a shot at them.

I'll give it a quick watch. Tired so doubt i'll see the full 12.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostAnthony Joshua wins easy.
Anyone watching Bellew?
EDIT - Boxing News were as scathing as they can be about tonight's Echo card. Basically said that on paper all of the fights are very one sided and you've got to wonder if paying punters will continue to pay for cards as one sided as tonight's.

it was a ****e night really.
no decent bouts on - just warm up/keep busy fights
Joshua looks an absolute animal - be great to see him step it up a bit now
apparently his next fight is some Ukrainian fella who took price 12 rounds recently - not that it says much....i reckon he'll blitz him....
eventually though after a few more fights he should just go and spark out Price/Fury/Chisora
He'd prob do them in one night, one after the other
after that it'll be time to step up to world level.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
