Still a bit gutted with the Eubank fight, tactics were all wrong for the lad, maybe his Dad was a bit too weary with this being his toughest fight against a durable and canny opponent, and he knows better now hopefully, or he really believed his lad would dominate the later rounds and do enough, which he nearly did tbf.
Either way, he can most definatley improve, which is good.

I have a theory about Eubank snr and his influence over his son's style of boxing.

I think Eubank is passing on the aftermath of the Michael Watson fight to his son.

If people think back to how Eubank fought before the Watson fight. He would go for the knock out or stoppage when he had an opponent in trouble and after the second Watson fight he tended to try to do just enough to get the win even when he looked to have an opponent in trouble.

Eubank jnr looks at times to be turning into Eubank snr V2.0. He seems to be having to start fights like the BJS fight using a style that resembles that of the latter half of his father's career, and it is a style that does not suit the younger Eubank as for my money the younger man has a lot of talent and very quick hands. Let Eubank jnr develop a style more befitting his obvious talent and I reckon he could become a dominant fighter.

Could be, but getting his old man to let go or change wont be an easy thing to do.

No it would not be. If any of it is down to what happened that night to Eubank snr, then it is understandable but that does not make it right to potentially be pushing it onto his son.

I think it is something that will haunt Eubank for the rest of his life, and I would not knock the man in any way because carrying something like that has to be something that only the person involved can truly feel, but if his son is to continue as a boxer then he needs to be let fully his own path.

I said the same thing! Totally agree with you - its being passed on as a considered approach ("slow pressure"), but Chris Sr was never that reluctant to throw in his earlier fights. I was urging Chris Jr to let loose earlier, you could see he had it in him and that he was the better fighter. It was tactics that lost him that fight.

Tbh, i'm past caring, and they're both past their best, so the question of who would have won in their prime will for ever remain unanswered.

Even if it happens, it wont be half the fight it should have been, and that's a sporting travesty.

Back to tonight I think Khan v Alexander will be very tight and will be decided on points. Not sure which way though.

Fantastic performance by Khan. Devastating hand speed. He made Devon look ordinary.

No shout out yet for Andy Lee on here this morning.

Got his hands on the WBO middleweight belt after the ref stopped the fight in the sixth.
