Beating Kell Brook would only (possibly) raise his profile in the UK. In the States they would simply say Kell who?

Agree about the value of the belt though.

Beating the IBF belt holder would have value in the States. Brook does not have much of a profile there outside of those who follow the division closely, but it is the fact he is the IBF belt holder that would catch the eye stateside if Khan pushed for the fight to be made.

Khan for all the talk does not have quite as big a profile stateside as his media folk would like folk to believe. His profile is considerably greater than that of Brook but he is not known as some kind of top class fighter. In many circles he is regarded as being the product of a very good PR campaign rather than being a boxer who potentially might be able to mix it up with the best in the division.

With Khan it is a no brainer. He needs to start stepping in with a higher calibre of fighter and actually beat them. It really is that simple. If he can do that then his hype will grow based on his results and he will develop a reputation as a guy who genuinely belongs in and around the top tier rather than getting seen as the guy who is always talking about destroying top fighters but who never seems to end up in the ring with them.

Would like to see the talking stop because Khan, unlike say David Haye who has a similar habit of spouting off about wiping the floor with the best in his division, might actually have the tools to mix it up with all in and around his division, save for maybe one or two, but he needs to start facing them so he can find out how good he actually is.

Broner could be an interesting fight for Khan; I'd think Khan would win this.

Khan would beat Broner imo. Broner is not a top tier fighter, but he is the sort of fighter that would look good on Khan's record as Broner would be very much a live opponent.

I think Broner is all style and little substance, making his name off being tied into Mayweather. It'd be a decent win though if Khan takes him on, Brook I'm less sure of whether Khan would win tbh but it's a fight I'd certainly like to see.

If it comes down to a choice between Broner and Brook, then I expect Khan's management to go for Broner.

I think Khan should be able to beat either of them, but Brook would be the tougher challenge. Personally I think he should go after the belt holder as getting one of the main straps is a much better way to raise his own profile along with making him a more attractive target for the winner of Mayweather jr/Pac.

Khan beats Broner by UD. I think he will outwork him and box him at range. Broner is a big name but lets not kid ourselves he is really a lightweight/light welterweight fighter. He struggled at welterweight and weren't able to carry his power despite beating Paulie. It's why he moved down to light welterweight. I honestly feel he'll be making a big mistake moving back up to welterweight so soon. For me if it's announced that Khan is fighting Broner it's just another example of Khan being kept away from big punchers which has been the case since he got beat by Garcia.

I think Khan will bear Broner I do think it's tough for Khan though as whilst he might be being kept away from the big hitters I also think they're also keeping clear of him, at present without a belt it's a risk to take him on when there are other safer options out there as nobody wants to miss the chance (payday) of taking on FM or Manny
