This has been on the news because Parker is from NZ and Australian's think NZ is part of Australia when it suits them (like England/Britain I guess). I don't know if this is on anyone's radar but the other guy has a decent record.

Parker is an interesting one alright. His record is full of low level journeymen or guys well past their prime, but he looks to possibly have a few qualities that are above average for a 14 fight heavy, qualities that potentially could prove to be far better than above average.

Hard to tell if he is going to go on to become a decent journey man or something better than that, but he does look better, technically, after 14 fights than did guys like Fury, Price, and Wilder.

Would also say that in terms of boxing basics that he looks more developed than Anthony Joshua (Joshua is a couple of years old and has had 13 pro fights) and Parker has taken on some slightly better journeymen to date but he has also been in with guys that really should be retired from the sport.

Saw him in Germany a year or two ago and he is a very deceptive heavy in terms of size. Very much like Lennox Lewis in that you see him on tv and he does not look like a big heavy, but in the flesh he has a bit of size to him which is always good for the intimidation factor.

He has a lovely build for a heavyweight as well, and one that should see him be an agile and mobile heavy along with having the sort of frame that will make him a strength sapper against the type that like to clinch.

Lennox Lewis was brilliant at using his frame to wear down fighters during clinches, he would force his weight onto the other fighter during clinches but never so much that he could be caught off balance and spun, and I think Parker has the physical tools to add that often overlooked talent (and it is a really effective talent when a guy has the right mix of frame and application) to his offensive arsenal.

The heavyweight division is not an exciting one in terms of upcoming talents, but Parker is certainly at the same level as the likes of Joshua (personally I think he is a bit ahead of Joshua), and he is probably going to turn out no worse than many of the mouthpieces currently calling themselves top class (Fury, Wilder etc).

There have been rumours of him moving to Germany and coming under the wing of K2 Promotions or one of their affiliated promoters, but a lot will depend on how tied in Parker is with Duco Events and how much it would cost to buy out his contract from them.

Lol'd at Mayweather jr issuing a challenge to De La Hoya to fight him in September.

De La Hoya is in awesome shape at present, he actually looks better than he did towards the end of his career, and he certainly looks in fighting shape when he takes his top of, he seems to have done the smart thing today and totally dismissed the idea of coming back.

Floyd Mayweather insists he is still considering his next opponent for his planned farewell fight in September.

Mayweather this week suggested he would even offer a rematch to the 42-year-old Oscar De La Hoya, who has since ruled out coming out of retirement to avenge his 2007 points defeat.

"I look forward to fighting this September, hopefully we've got a good competitor," he told Mayweather Promotions.

"I'm pretty sure we will have a solid competitor. Everything takes time, we’ll see.

"We don’t know yet. We have to take time and we’ll see."

Khan revealed how he held heated discussions with Mayweather’s father, Floyd Senior, about the much-talked about clash.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: "He thinks Floyd can beat me easily, so I said 'alright, if that’s the case, then let’s get a fight made'.

"Then he went all crazy on me and there was lots of swearing. I've got a video, I've not posted it yet, but I am going to.

**** off Khan, the public want to see a Floyd -Jaco catch weight bout in a 16 X 16 ring.

Khan can have a bout on the undercard vs "Smokin' Puff" Shaggy .

                  Piss poor from Smith this

Andre Ward slams 'unprofessional' Paul Smith who misses catchweight by 4.4lbs

Andre Ward branded Paul Smith 'unprofessional' after the British fighter weighed in 4.4lbs over the 172-pound catchweight limit for their Saturday showdown in California.

Smith came in at 176.6lbs with American Ward at 171.8. The two teams, after hours in talks, have come up with a new, as yet unknown weight limit, which both men must make at another weigh-in later today. Smith will also have to pay a fine for not making 172lbs.

For his last fight, against WBO super-middleweight champion Arthur Abraham, Smith weighed 165.5lbs.

Ward looked lean and in relaxed mood as he returns to the ring after 19 months away and he hit out at Smith for coming in at cruiserweight.

"I'm disappointed with Paul," he told Sky Sports News HQ. "I heard last night that as of yesterday morning he was eight pounds over. You've got to realise in negotiations, my team said 172 and he fought to have it at 170. And he comes in four pounds overweight. It's very unprofessional.

"Right now my team has work to do with the commission and with Paul's team. We're just not going to be okay with that. I did my part to make my weight like a professional. If he struggled that much with the weight he should have alerted us a long time ago. There could have been a change in the weight. If you wait until the last minute and then get on the scales - it's not a good look.

"It makes you think, 'is this a strategy?' It doesn't make me more confident - it makes me more motivated. I did my part to make the weight. He didn't and I feel a certain way about that."

Smith's promoter Eddie Hearn admits Smith miscalculated.

"Obviously he got things wrong," he said. "Mainly with the travelling and the water retention, the way he does the weight - he's taken on a lot of fluids - and it hasn't worked out for him. Now he's missed the weight.

"We'll talk - I'm sure it will be fine for the fight. It seems to be a common trend right now in boxing. There are always issues now to resolve and discuss."

Watch Adrien Broner v Shawn Porter and Andre Ward v Paul Smith live on Sky Sports 1, this Saturday night from 1.30am

Dear oh dear that's not good is it. Massive opportunity given to him there and to not make the weight is unprofessional to say the least

Smith Miscalculated? More like Smith couldn't give a ****.

                      He was fined $45k

Wonder what % of his purse that is?

                      He's getting battered regardless.

Just another in a quite enormous list of reasons why Paul Smith is a massive, massive cunt. Weird though, he has possibly the biggest ego in Liverpool so would have thought he'd be thinking he'd go in there and school Ward and become a star.

Eddie Hearn can **** off too, that **** is insulting, he hasnt even bothered attempting to make it.

Ward's a cunt aswell, this is a disgraceful fight, come back, ring rust whatever, still truly terrible in a week where he's done interview after interview mocking Golovkin's opponents.

                          His purse is approx $225k

                          He's lost $45k of that.

Decent money no doubt but hardly 'life changing' as Eddie likes to describe it.

As expected Smith took a bit of a beating and was pulled out in the 9th. It'll be interesting to see who Ward gets in with next.

Not even close to being that. Ward was coming back after nearly a two year lay off and as such a Paul Smith level opponent is more than acceptable.

Not Ward's fault that Smith came in heavier.

As for his comments about Golovkin's opponents, well I think it is no secret that Ward has his sights set on Golovkin, and to be honest I think that is to be applauded if it comes off as there are plenty who don't want a piece of Golovkin and who are happy to avoid any chance of fighting him.

Ward- Golovkin is a match up that I would love to see as I think their styles and ability levels are such that we could one of the best high level fights in years.

If you had to go and design a fighter that would trouble and possibly beat Golovkin, then Ward ticks a hell of a lot of the right boxes to be that man.

Similarly if you had to design a fighter that could give Ward his first loss as a professional, then Golovkin would look a hell of a lot like that guy.
