Like **** he has a case. If he and his camp were too thick to check out the basics in advance then more fool them. Wlad is nothing if not predictable in terms of what type of glove, ring etc., he prefers for his fights and anyone facing him would be able to have a pretty good idea as to what they would be facing, and as a result be able to check out similar stuff in advance.

At the start of the week he was threatening to pull out of the fight over the gloves that he was contracted to wear and said that if he did not get tailor made gloves delivered by yesterday he was going to pull out.

Then after he got the gloves made the way he wanted, then today he is whinging about the ring not being the way he wants it.

Funny thing is that the glove brand and ring type for tonight are the exact same as for when the fight was first due to take place. Where was Fury's complaints back then over the exact same equipment. Plus if fighters cannot agree on glove brand, then the promoter has to provide four different gloves for the fighters to chose from for the bout and for back up, and even if that fails then the WBF supervisor can step in and make a ruling. So Fury running to the BBBC for a whinge is just him trying to make a fuss over something that there are already guidelines in place for.


He also had a few other whinges in the past where he threatened to pull out of fights due to not getting his own way on stuff.

But that is nothing new. You face Wlad in Germany and there is always a bit of that before the fight.

The exact same thing was done fore the earlier date for this fight.

It is nothing new and as said in my other post it is very easy to predict.

Wlad's tactics and those of his team are as obvious as those of a New York mugger.

Fury's people will have seen the ring earlier in the week and should have known that anything they saw was an attempt to get into Fury's head.

There are minimum standards that have to be in place, and come fight tine that ring will be perfect. Anything less than perfect would hinder Wlad as much as Fury, and Wlad's team as sure as hell not going to let that happen.

Fury's attempts at mind games involve batman costumes, homophobic comments and other on the nose type remarks, Wlad's version of the same thing has always come late in the day and nearly always involves things like BSing over rings etc.

Most fighters are able to see through it, or at least their teams see through it and advise the fighters, but Fury seems to be reacting to everything as if he was a green fighter (something he is not) seeing all this kind of stuff for the first time.

Simple fact is that Wlad cannot force Fury to wear a certain glove (he can request it. but there are plenty of avenues to prevent this and usually a fighter does not as they can get some extra cash for going with the champion's choice , and team Wlad cannot at this stage change anything to do with the ring away from what has already been contractually agreed.


My guess is that he has either found a way to get under Fury's skin or Fury has a serious case of pre fight nerves kicking in.

Exactly. It is nothing new in the game, and the likes of Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard (or rather their teams) used to pull this stuff all the time.

And if Fury were to win tonight I have no doubt he would be returning the favour to other fighters in the years to come.

It tends not to work on most fighters as their people will be wise to it, but when it does get under the skin it can make a guy look a bit bat**** paranoid.

Sugar Ray Leonard tried every trick in the book in the lead up to his fight with Hagler. Type of gloves, colour of shorts, ring size, boot type etc etc., all got contested over and over and over. Then when all sides agreed, SRR's side would then pick on something close to fight time in order to piss Hagler off even more, like bringing a pair of the wrong gloves for show at the pre weigh in presser.

And in more modern times, Mayweather Jr had that sort of thing down to a fine art.

It is nothing new, and Fury really should have expected it after the amount of stuff he spouted trying to play mind games of his own.
