Being World Heavyweight Champion should be earning him plenty in sponsorship, along with every pay day he's had since he began, how is he not yet financially set, the rest of his career should be about topping up an already hefty bank balance.

I know he was the 'Challenger' when he won so not as big a pay day, and bigger money was ahead of him, but still, by now he should be set i'd have thought.

Then again, i expect his profile doesn't really suit sponsorship.

Shame if he truly is depressed, i was with Peter Fury for most of that, but when he said 100% he'll be back, i wondered, how could he know that after all he'd just said.

So i have my doubts, but if he's sick, i hope he recovers.
So you'd want Fury as the face of your brand? The income generated from big events should be enough, although his promoter may have screwed him, I've heard of many cases where fighters don't even get to see the contract for their events. I remember Calzaghe wrote in his book that he was earning a pittance even after the Eubank fight, so it's actually very possible.

He's just such a despicable individual. Despite that, I don't think he's very well known in the sporting world outside of boxing. He's an average fighter, with a horrendous style. Other boxers with horrible styles have at least had some marketability or redeeming qualities, but there's not much in Fury's court. He'll fade into history and no on will remember him.

Not really, hence the... 'Then again, i expect his profile doesn't really suit sponsorship '...... comment.

I just thought he'd be worth a few mill, 2 or 3 maybe more ? Which should really be enough to put his feet up, if he's thrifty.

Scottish boxer Mike Towell has died in hospital after being seriously injured in a bout on Thursday, his management has said.
The 25-year-old, from Dundee, was rushed to hospital after a fifth-round loss to Dale Evans in a St Andrews Sporting Club fight at Glasgow's Radisson Blu Hotel.
Towell's partner, Chloe Ross, said he "fought right to the end".
His management said he passed away with his family at his bedside.
St Andrews Sporting Club confirmed Towell's death in a tweet on Saturday morning.
"Within the last hour Mike Towell passed away - he will always be in our hearts #RIPIronMike," it said.
                'Absolutely heartbroken'
In a Facebook post, Ms Ross said Towell passed away peacefully shortly after 23:00 BST on Friday, 12 hours after he was taken off life support.
"I'm absolutely heartbroken to say my annoying best friend passed away tonight at 11.02 very peacefully," she wrote.
"Michael had severe bleeding and swelling to his brain.
"He had been complaining of headaches for the last few weeks but we put it down to migraines with the stress of his fight.
"It has been the longest 24 hours of our lives. My baby has lost his daddy. But he will be so so proud of his dad in what he achieved."
Ms Ross added: "Once he was taken off of his life support he managed 12 hours, 12 whole rounds off his life support, he fought right to the end and he's done us all so proud... He left doing the thing he's best at... there's only one."
Trainer Shane McGuigan said on Twitter: "Heartbreaking news that Mike Towell has lost his life. May he rest in peace, thoughts go out to his loved ones. #RIP"
Promoter Eddie Hearn said: "Absolutely devastated by the passing of Mike Towell - all of our thoughts with his friends and family at this time."
Towell was knocked down in the first round of the fight, before recovering to continue the match.
Referee Victor Loughlin stopped the fight in the fifth round shortly after Towell was knocked down a second time.
He received treatment in the ring and was given oxygen before being taken to an ambulance on a stretcher.
The boxer had been undefeated going into Thursday's fight, with 11 previous wins and one draw on his professional record.

TBH I would not be down on him in relation to his boxing career for taking coke. I don't like coke and don't think it is very smart of anyone to take it, but adults can make their own decisions with the likes of it, and if a person gets caught then they can take whatever legal repercussions come with that.

But for me it is not a "ban them for life from the sport" type offence.

However what should be a banned for life offence imo is being caught using PEDs. If Tyson Fury is 100% proven to have done that, then he should be out and in my eyes the same should apply to any athlete in any sport.

Did think there were double standards at play in the summer when both Fury and Jon Jones were being discussed in the media in relation to PEDs. Fury was being hammered for it (and I would agree with that IF it is 100% true), yet Jones had people making excuses for him.

Yes it is a bit naive or idealistic on my side of things to wish for proper bans for those caught, but I do think that it should be done.

Fair play to Hatton for raising money for Mike Towell's family.
