Boxing is fixed, without question it is corrupt when it comes to judges decisions.

Golovkin would have know that he was never getting a decision after the last farce, but there is no doubt in my find that $$$ talk. Its a ****ing joke.

Price must be one of the most uncoordinated, unfit punching bags I've ever seen in a 10 rounder.

On the main event, think Ajay will take it on points comfortably, but would love Povetkin to spring a surprise.

Not a good start for Joshua by the sound of it.

Ortiz and Wilder could give Joshua some real issues.

Them scorecards were just a bit crooked.

Was a good set up with the couple of body jabs to open up Povetkins head. Once he caught him with a clean shot then the solid left hook and straight right Povetkin was in trouble. Emphatic finish.

The ref needs to give his head a wobble allowing Povetkin to fight on. The only thing that did was give Joshua another three or four free punches at his head.

Yup, no way should he have allowed him to continue.

Might be useful for another day, but as someone above said, Reddit is great for streams...search on Reddit for boxingstreams. Also works if you do a search for soccerstreams too, on match days.

That clips reminds me a bit of that slowmo when Matthysse hits Garcia flush with a right hand and his gum guard goes flying. No idea how it didn't know him down because that was huge.

Heavyweight wise it's a bit like Shannon Briggs getting laid out by Lennox Lewis and somehow miraculously beating the count.

At first I thought Povetkin was really bad after the knock down, but his feet were surprisingly steady. If you look at him when he was down, he wasn't struggling to get back up initially, it was Kirpa grabbing him telling him to stay down. In that case, the towel should have been thrown in. You never really know how a guy will respond, so I can kind of understand why the ref let it go. Like that Briggs vs Lewis bout, I thought Briggs was about dead after that knockdown but he responded well for the next few rounds. It's a fine balance, but with over a minute left on the clock, it was probable things would end badly for Povetkin and it is his responsibility to protect the fighters.

I reckon Povetkin v Parker would be a good match up.

                                No more boxing on HBO.

                                ---

In other news, unfortunately a freakshow between Chavez Jr and Martinez has been made for November. As stated above, completely irrelevant and not particularly good for boxing. Unless Martinez is fit and has one last performance as a proper goodbye it's not worth much. I doubt that will happen considering he's approaching his mid 40s.
