And I dunno, just always got a bad vibe from him really. I don't know enough about Cycling to form a proper opinion(hey Neil where are you man ) but, there's just something I really don't like about him.

I'd expect that they all have "difficult" personalities, like many sports people, but particularly the ones who are "soloists", to use the Brendanesque parlance.

To succeed you have to be single minded, determined, selfish, ruthless. Nothing or no one should get in the way of the ultimate goal of winning. The most obvious examples are formula 1 drivers. Team mates and enemies at once. Friendship goes out of the window pretty quickly when you have to use every tiny advantage to get ahead of your rival.

Well I think there's an understanding amongst professionals that there's an element of that Dominic aye. But the Tour is very much a team event- the main riders rely very heavily on their domestiques otherwise they'd get nowhere in the overall standing. Froome sacrificed himself for Wiggo as an überdomestique when he was more than capable of winning it himself (as evidenced by the following year), yet the story is Wiggo was less than generous with the prize money (as it is the team's primary man's responsibility to share out).
