Note to the media regarding Jules Bianchi
SUN 05.10.14
On lap 42, Adrian Sutil lost control of his car, spun and hit the tyre barrier on the outside of Turn 7. The marshals displayed double waved yellow flags before the corner to warn drivers of the incident. A recovery vehicle was despatched in order to lift the car and take it to a place of safety behind the guardrail. While this was being done the driver of car 17, Jules Bianchi, lost control of his car, travelled across the run-off area and hit the back of the tractor.
Once the marshals reported that the driver was injured, medical teams were despatched and the Safety Car was deployed. These were followed by an extrication team and an ambulance.
The driver was removed from the car, taken to the circuit medical centre and then by ambulance to Mie General Hospital.
The CT scan shows that he has suffered a severe head injury and he is currently undergoing surgery. Following this he will be moved to intensive care where he will be monitored.
Mie General Hospital will issue an update as soon as further information becomes available.

I was watching on SKY F1 and Brundle and Croft had no clue that there was another car there, neither did the commentators on BBC by the sounds of it.
I didn't notice the car but I knew there was something wrong when I saw the marshals agitated and waving. At first I thought a marshal had been run over by the crane.

Yeah it was BBC I just watched. Having known there was a crash I could see the wheels behind the teleporter but obviously these lads weren't looking for it. Mad there wasn't a replay in the commentary booth of him going off. It was about 10 minutes before Coulthard mentioned he didn't know where Bianchi was. Mika Salo apparently said he went nose first under it and smacked his head off it!

Horrible end to an eventful GP. I can't imagine we'll see Bianchi back, I'd be surprised if he does return. I'm thinking injuries like Karl Wendlinger back in the 90's, which wasn't as fast a crash and was into a barrier. Really hope I'm wrong, sounds like a horrific accident.
Away from that, Lewis putting the pressure on Nico again seems to be working well for him - Nico isn't enjoying looking over his shoulder, and like the commentator said, he hasn't had the better of Lewis in a straight fight yet.

Lewis was superb today and so much faster than a Rosberg who had no answer today, this must be the biggest gap Lewis has opened up all season at the top.
Horrific end to the GP today with Bianchi and I agree it's more likely he won't return but you have to hope he can get over the injuries and get back into the sport.

On the racing side of things i thought apart from the Mercs the Red Bulls looked good today and you could see why they'd won so many around here in the past few seasons the aerodynamics on the car is awesome.
Williams don't seem to like a wet track looked like they struggled with it today, dry and I think they'd have been pushing the Red Bulls.
Oh and mention for Button, good drive today took some calculated risks on tyre choices that almost worked out for him.
