I think today settles the issue of whether Wiggins was making excuses, no way would he lose three minutes on a flat stage if it was poor form. But his descending was clearly a major problem again.

It will be intriguing to see how Wiggins approaches Le Tour now and the stance the team as a whole take.
Nibali has been immense in this race, the attack at the end to take more time from Evans and Uran should also have broken any thoughts they might still of harboured of winning the GiroComment

Bloody weather.
Today's stage has been shortened at both ends. It starts after Mont Cenis, instead of before, and now finishes at or just after (I'm not clear which) Valloire between the Télégraphe and the Galibier. All this only helps Nibali, as if he needs it, since it makes the race easier for everyone and gives his rivals, such as they are now, fewer chances to put him under pressure.
And I'm really annoyed because I was looking forward to it as I've ridden these roads and stayed in a village on the road between Mont Cenis and the Télégraphe in 2011.
