Being a bit thick here, but why is it a Double Ashes? What is a Double Ashes?

Over here in the summer then over to Oz for the winter.

Australia in disarray at the moment too

Get both KP and Swanny back fit and on form and we'll hammer them.

They are doing it so they can change the schedule a bit to avoid clashes with World Cup years (I think)

We seemed a bit **** against New Zealand. Hope we sort ourselves out.

Of course. Out of interest, does this rivalry feel as fierce as Liverpool v Man Utd?

It has always seemed to be a kind of friendly rivalry. I have never felt too strong towards the England cricket team as I have grown up supporting Pakistan (yes, **** u Norman Tebbitt ) and for me the rivalry of Pakistan v India matches is so fierce, dare I say it even more so that Liverpool v Utd.

It's fierce, but friendly. I wouldn't say it's comparable to India v Pakistan though.

The Aussies and the English love rubbing each others faces in it when the other does poorly

                          Yes and No.

We had 2 terrible days in the series. Both meant we could have lost those matches, but we batted really well in the final innings to save them. We would probably have won the other test match if it hadn't of rained.

We were definitely below par and badly missed Swann (who can get wickets on almost any surface), but overall, we had a terrific winter in all forms of the game. We return home from the winter tour with more positives than problem areas.

The top 6 is finalised, the only doubt will be the bowling line up. But, the Aussies batting is poor and so I'm less concerned about that.

Pre-season training with our 'Spring' weather must have been hell for the players.
