Dimitrov, Cillic, Warwinka and Kyrgios or Raonic making up the semi-finals would be great for tennis.

Is it Lendl that made Murray decent then?

Nah he's got the talent but there are some great players coming through to challenge the established players, the guy that beat him today has been very highly rated for a while and is starting to realise his promise

He couldn't have. It might have been better if he'd phoned in and said that he's not turning up today.

Yep. However, we saw about 10% of Murray's talent today. Something's up.

Fatigue perhaps or he just had an off day, since the back surgery he's not hit the heights he managed previously, I think perhaps there's a comparison on how well Nadal came back from his injuries last year and Murray which is perhaps a little unfair Nadal is a freak of nature in tennis

Speculation but interesting nonetheless. Something did seem majorly awry...

Andy Murray meltdown: Brit heard swearing at his team during defeat by Grigor Dimitrov
                      • Andy Murray out of Wimbledon at quarter-final stage after being comfortably beaten in straight sets by Grigor Dimitrov
                      • Dimitrov said after the match he sensed Murray was not right in the warm-up
                      • In the second set, Murray was heard to bark ‘shut the f**** up’, seemingly towards his own team
                      • In the third set, he shouted ‘five minutes before the f****** match’, again in the direction of the players’ box

Andy Murray crashed out of Wimbledon in the quarter-finals after suffering a mini-meltdown on Centre Court, where spectators heard two X-rated rants seemingly aimed at his own team.

Murray, who had cruised through the opening rounds without losing a set, made 37 unforced errors during his shock straight-sets defeat. Even his opponent and friend Grigor Dimitrov claimed he did not seem himself as they warmed up before the match.

The 23-year-old Bulgarian said: ‘As soon as we started to warm up I sensed that his game was not at the highest level.’

In the second set, Murray was heard to bark ‘shut the f**** up’, seemingly towards his own team. As he fell 4-2 down in the third set, he was heard shouting ‘five minutes before the f****** match’, in the direction of the players’ box.

On Wednesday night, his agent said he was not aware of anything happening five minutes before the match which could have thrown him off his game. The loss ended a 17-match winning streak at Wimbledon.

Dimitrov, who is 13th in the world, was later asked why he felt fifth seed Murray was out of sorts during the warm-up.

He said: ‘It’s just a feeling. I have practised quite a few times with him and I know how he is striking the ball when he is at his best.

‘I know how he is playing when he is not at his best. I felt something was a little different and I just had to go with the flow.’

Andy Murray's behaviour has come under scrutiny after reports emerged the Wimbledon champion swore during his straight sets quarter-final defeat to Grigor Dimitrov on Wednesday.

Murray dropped to No.10 in the world for the first time in six years after he was comfortably beaten by the Bulgarian, who afterwards said he had "sensed" something was wrong with the Scot during the warm-up.

The Guardian reports photographers on Centre Court told the newspaper Murray had shouted "Shut the f*** up" towards his box, where new coach Amelie Mauresmo sat alongside his girlfriend Kim Sears and mother Judy, during the second set.

It also reports Murray uttered "Five minutes before the f****** game" when stood underneath the Royal Box, where both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were sat, towards the end of the match.

The Telegraph points out that Murray left the All England club grounds straight after his post-match interview still in his kit while girlfriend Sears was reported to have left alone, and was said to look visibly upset as she left the players' box on Centre Court after Murray's defeat.

Regarding Murray, wow... he swore. I can't believe they wrote an article about it. Further testament to my tennis players are pussies argument.

Djokovic is being pushed by Dimitriov. He was down a set point and recovered. The remainder of this match should be excellent if it goes another set or not.

His BMT is incredible. When he's facing the most difficult moments he keeps his cool. Amazing composure. If I remember a few years back when Tsonga had 2 or 3 match points against him at Rolland Garros. He calmly won those, then managed to turn the match around. Not many people can disconnect like that in high pressure situations.

Apparently he was a good at football and basketball too.

I think the point is not that he swore, rather that he made what seems to be a very pointed remark about something that may or may not have happened before the match. Maybe a change of tactical plan or something.
