That's a bit beyond my budget unfortunately. I want to start with something cheap and cheerful so I can realise the value then upgrade.

This guy does brilliant in depth reviews for all watches. This is the one for the Fenix 3. You can build your own comparison table against other watches at the bottom of the review.

      He does

I've had the Garmin FR 210 for the past 4.5 years - good GPS watch. Works well with the chest strap but the charger is frustrating. I'd definitely recommend a Garmin.

Rather impulsively I purchased one of these earlier, anyone else got one?

My next door neighbour has one. He's pretty serious about cycling and has two bikes that cost in excess of £3000 each

I'll get the name of the software he uses. There's one that will alter the tension to simulate hills and you get to race other people on virtual courses all round the world. Makes it more interesting to use I guess

Just checked his Strava feed. The software's called Zwift I think

The bkool comes with similar software. Ive tried it online (albeit minus the actual cycling) and it seems pretty damned cool.

The trainer is en route now, from Spain of all places.

I've decided I'm going to aim for something I didn't think I could do, a mountain bike race! It's not a balls to the wall kind of race unless you're in the top 5% but it's either a 70km or 35km (my option) along Rural, Rainforest and Reef (hence the name RRR).

I'm sure it's going to hurt without a full suspension bike but the winners are usually the cross country riders on their fancy pants carbon hard tails!

I'll be on this next month Alex, so you'll have someone to grind into the dust.

I just need to get out of hospital first. 3 more weeks of this sh*t

Still, the clocks go forward in a couple of weeks Makes it so much easier to get out after work.

                          Get on it mate

Started the Couch to 5k again as my fitness has slipped in a big way. Hate running in the dark and now its lighter when I get home I dont have an excuse.

I've completed it 3 times before, every time not bothered to continue past the last week. My aim this time is to finish it and then keep going to improve my 5K time to sub 25 minutes.

Im sure people are running still on here (I know Pablo is) but the logging of the distance in here used to help motivate me. Be good to get back to it
