Sounds awful. When mine was at it's worst walking was absolute agony. I could barely move. Had to sit down using my arms without bending my legs etc. It's such a slow healer too that area of the foot, as it gets barely any blood supply.
I find now if I keep my ankles moving after exercise they are usually ok, but if I rest them too much then the next time I get up I can hardly walk

Everyone I run with has injuries too. I've long since came to realise running is terrible for your body, far too much impact.
