Pretty chuffed since the osteo was wary of telling me I could ever get back to the same place I was- at least now Im in the same ballpark.
Also, I finally got a 100K (overhead) pushpress a couple of weeks ago which is a PB.Originally posted by RoboKop View PostBack is healing well. Coupla new PBs yesterday:
Overhead Pushpress 90K 3 reps & 95K 2 reps. Bodyweight is 90K.
Celebrated with a 12 hour sesh which ended at 515 this am...I feel for you fella. But I can only think it is self inflicted. You had a bad back. You got better. Then you start lifting PB's and your back goes again.Originally posted by RoboKop View PostMy ****ing back is ****ed again. Just what I need when sorting the house to move. This is maybe not what you want to here. However, you have to know and acknowledge what your bodies weaknesses and limitations are. If you do not this will be a problem that occurs on a more frequent basis

****ing too right I do. ****ing sick of my existence being so miserable! 💩Originally posted by Norbs View PostFFS, you need a break from this mate
I know where you're coming from mate. Thing is I've been following what the osteo has said so I've not been stupid. I live to lift, it's the main thing that's kept me sane this last couple of years so we'll have to see. Really don't wanna have to find a new sport. Let's just hope it's bad luck and largely unrelated. It feels more like a taekwondo injury than a weights one- more twisted than squished. Fingers ****ing crossed.🚑Originally posted by Assassin View PostI feel for you fella. But I can only think it is self inflicted. You had a bad back. You got better. It's a right pisser when you find something you think you like and you get an injury. I ran 10k again this morning but my leg heel hurst like hell and will do for 48hrs (until I run again probably). Why can't it just not bloody hurt!
I think I may have to go to a run shop for them to analyse my gait before trying to sell me some ridiculously expensive trainers

I'm pretty sure it's Plantar Fasciiltitiisittiscsisisdittilliditisis and means I need to stretch/warm up my soles before I run. I've got to be completely honest, I've never warmed up or cooled down after exercise in my lifeOriginally posted by Alex View PostGo to the Drs. They might be able to advise something to strap it.
Friend of mine told me to get to the Drs when I took up running, apparently he had an underlying knee problem and managed to get it sorted before things got bad.

Bloody hell, Norbs. You're not twenty! You can't treat your body like you are..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

It is plantar fasciitittietis most likely.
You're in the wrong shoes. Trail shoes are stupidly heavy for road running.
Get a tennis ball and roll your foot on it twice a day. Stop running for 5 days. Get a gait done and don't buy shoes, come back to me and I'll tell you whether the shoes they advise are right or not. You don't have to spend anywhere near £100.Contrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

Carry a golf ball round with you and if you have an opportunity take your shoe off and roll your foot over the ball. It'll stretch out the plantar and while not fixing the problem will quicken the healing. It's a horrible injury.Originally posted by Norbs View PostI'm pretty sure it's Plantar Fasciiltitiisittiscsisisdittilliditisis and means I need to stretch/warm up my soles before I run. And I've never really stretched and my hammys have shortened hugely as a consequence. I have a pre and post rub routine now and find my recovery time is much quicker as a result.
Hope the plantar sorts itself out. I'd give it a week. Also try and stay away from shoes like cons for a few days. Rubbing trainers if you can to keep the muscle stretched.
I've a few other tips that I picked up last time I shot mine if you want em.
And last night I was doing 0.7 mile intervals at 6:20 speed. Brill!!!! Never maintaining that for 13 miles
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Fantastic advice all round guys, thank you all
Been looking at road worthy shoes on eBay this morning, I had a feeling the trail shoes were probably not giving enough support. Without getting checked, is it safe to go for a neutral shoe? Looked at Adizero Rush and Adizero Adios 2 shoes as both aren't massively expensive. Think I'll invest in a stretching aid too for the dodgy foot.
And Neil, I know man but it's hard to change a habit of a lifetime. What's even worse is I forgot to bring anything so drink so did 56mins without any re-hydration
Definitely feeling less tired after a 10k run in August than a 6k in cooler temps when I started out. Feels good, not seeing any body change yet though, I think I need to make a concerted effort to re-start the rowing program on my running rest days.
