    I don't think you really get the situation though as you've clearly never been overweight. It's a he'll of a struggle to get down, then even more of a struggle to maintain it. I was overeating. So I've cut down my calorie intake. It seems fairly simple to me.

    You seem to be dishing out advice like a doctor, and by your own logic I should only listen to them. That's the only reason I asked if you were an expert. To be honest what ever works for a person is personal to them, if it works, it works. But telling people there doing it wrong isn't right either.

    This thread has turned into you basically dishing out advice and dismissing others. I do appreciate different view points though.

    Sorry if this seems like a rant as its not ment that way, it's hard not to come across like a prick on the Internet. I just don't want to fell like a cunt posting in this thread.

      Not dishing out medical advice, just general information. Not saying it is right or wrong, just saying the low energy intake with exercise can cause problems.

      Stuff like what Kris' PT said about caffeine I got the information from the Mayo Clinic, the water stuff I know from studying physiology and the filter stuff is just general information. A lot of the other stuff is from NHS site. I also know how to do research properly.

        Yeah I agree with Matt. Eating less slows your metabolism down. You're most likely to put on extra weight after that. It never works in the long run. Carbohydrates is a must as well. This is your fuel and it's pointless cutting it unless your're eating worth of 4000 calories a day and doing nothing. Key is exercise really.

          Im not eating less though. Im eating the same, more if anything. Ive just started cutting out all the ****. Crisps/Pies/Pizza ect.

          I dont think anyone thinks that only eating a slice of brown bread ever is healthy. Ive just cut down on the crap. Well.....Im trying too.

              Yeah, exercise is the thing I need to get back into. I used to play football twice a week last year. Recently ive done nothing for 6 months.

                  None at the moment mate. I used to cycle quite a fair bit. But that's stopped as well since the bike broke.

                    Same here...cutting out crisps and chocolate and eating more fruit and veg.

                    Might cut out the calorie counting altogether to be honest as it's just a ballache. As long as I'm eating well, I don't think it matters that much!

                                Went for a Mexican last night.

                                16oz rib-eye, seasoned chips and onion rings. Feel a bit heavy today now mind.
