I was a skinny rake when we met, could see my ribs! Which, incidentally, I used to be a bit embarrassed about when we got jiggy. I'd swap for that in a flash!
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I just checked and my ribs are barely visible.
      Oh I don't know.

If you're 6'1" and wear platform shoes > 1 inch, does this count?

Just a theoretical question, as I'm 6'4", so can clearly pig out with impunity

Yep. I can catagorically state that you can eat 3,120 calories a day and will not put on an ounce

I have just eaten a delicious but healthy chicken shish kebab (with chilli sauce and chips). I love it when the pitta bread goes soggy with the cilli sauce. Yum.

On a calorie controlled diet, can I eat anything I want with the same affect?

I'm consuming no more than 1800 a day at the moment, now if I ate 1800 calories of pork scratchings for example, would it be any different to me eating 1800 calories of fruit and veg? Would I put on weight? I don't think so, I'm sure a calorie is a calorie and that if you were 6ft tall and you'd worked out that 2300 calories a day would maintain your current weight, those 2300 calories could be made up of anything. Obviously you'd soon die of heart desease if you lived on porkies, but theoretically, would you die fat?

I'm just trying to work out if my fat loss would be speeded up if these 1800 calories were made up of certain food groups or is the whole point of calorie controlled diets the fact that it doesn't matter?

Certain food types are certainly treated by the body in different ways. Carbs are burned off first. So everything you do primarily uses carbs such as sugars to generate energy. So if you don't excercise but eat a lot of carbs, they get turned into fat and stored. If you do exercise, you burn those off as you consume them.

Fat is less easy to burn, so is stored and also has uses in the body. You broadly burn fat when there are no carbs to burn, but it's hard work.

Lastly, protein is burned. If you're at that stage, you're in a desparate way as the body is effectively digesting muscle to survive.

I'm sure Matt le shark will correct me.

To be fair im not that fat just have a little beer belly

I got quite muscely a few years ago when i was "skinny" so a lot of my weight is that.

Do need to do more cardio though. And eat less ****e. And drink less beer.
