About to sneak off for a 10km run in my lunch hour. Basically I get away with going about 3 times a week, but normally I run 7km which takes me about 35 minutes. 10km will take me about 50 minutes, so with time for a shower added on I'll definitely go over my lunch hour. I'm going to see how far I can push it before I get a bollocking. Testing the waters

think I will do pabs. there is one in Liverpool in march that I might do but the rocknroll one in may is defo getting done. the eight mile run I did last week felt ok. pace was around 7:40 per mile but then on the seventh and eighth it slowed down to around 8:40 which I wasn't to happy with.

well done on the mile count too. I think I average about 15 miles a week. going to the gym shortly for a 5000m row and then four mile run on the treadmill, I find it a hell of a lot easier on the treadmill but prefer running in the elements.

my hip has been giving me a bit of trouble but I have started using the deep heat rub which helps. tends to sneak over to the ball area so can get slightly hot down there but its not to bad.

Squats back up to 5x145K but this is despite a trigger point in my leg. Only able to use about 90% of my right leg- reckon would have 5x150K in me without that crap, which'd be a PB.
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I'm alternating between 3 routes at the moment. Today's is a new one that I've only done twice. It's 4.2m with a 360 feet elevation at roughly half way. I'm still unable to do the very last 300m without taking a breather but definitely feel stronger than the first run of the year. If I can push to do that last bit then the last two miles are all downhill and pretty easy

15 miles and counting Got to run again tomorrow as I'm working dawn to dust Thursday and Friday. I might swap the scheduled run of 4.5 miles to the slightly shorter 3.7 mile one. Interesting huh?

I did a 10km with a 360ft climb on Friday. The climb lasted about 2.5km. It was tough; it got steeper and steeper. I had to walk the last bit, it was just too tough. My lungs were shattered and my legs turned to jelly

I've done 7 runs so far in 2014, covering 27 miles, so I'm getting there now

Oh and "dawn to dust"? Nice Jenkinsism

I've got quite a nice 4 mile route at the moment. My problem is that I get bored of doing the same route, I need loads of route variety otherwise my motivation starts to drop.

Toting it up I reckon I've done about 20 miles so far in January - not bad for someone weighing 17st 7lb!

Rich, Norbs, you want a little competition? See who can rack up the most miles in the remainder of January?

I'm currently 12 miles ahead of Norbs and 7 ahead of Rich, so we could handicap it?

                        Pablo
                        Rich + 7 miles
                        Norbs + 12 miles

                        Bring it on gents!

I hope you are right. But basics physics says you will end up injured again

Osteo appointment this afternoon - hopefully will sort it. Had one of the physios give it a quick run over post-squats at the gym yesterday- reckons it's a nasty trigger point not a pull, but we will see.

Tis back day today, so no legs involved.
