Not likely, I was out yesterday

I got myself into a nice routine of getting to work early and going for a run before I start the day. So when I am home I dont lose time doing it. Frustrating when I cant.

My run last night was awesome - even the gales couldn't stop me! Had a real spring in my step.

Ace that Rich, I love it when that happens. You feel unstoppable, like you could run all day.

My run today will be a slow one again as I'm running with work colleagues. I quite enjoy these runs though, they're comfortable and we tend to have a good chat. Plus it's sunny

If I was going to buy a cheap GPS watch - which one should I go for? Don't need anything fancy, just something which is accurate.

Get an app Rich, it's much cheaper. Adidas MiCoach tots it up for you for free and I've found it to be 100% accurate in all weathers. You can even now get Bluetooth heart monitors that connect to your phone if it has Bluetooth LTE which makes it a fitness coach too I believe.

Right, I'm geared up and looking for a nice flat trail to try. They're all so bloody muddy but my legs have felt less sore doing it this way. Motivation is a killer when running is so pain filled.

There's loads of GPS based apps on smartphones these days. I use Endomondo, but as Norb says Adidas and Nike have ones too. I don't see the point in the watch ones as either way I'd want to take my phone with me. Firstly for music, but also what if I pull a hamstring or twist my ankle or something? What if there's an emergency at home while I'm off on an hour long run? I like the comfort of knowing my phone is there if I need it, or someone needs me. So for that reason it just makes best sense for me to use a phone based app.

I think I've managed to convince the guy I run with in work to do a 8.5km route today instead of our normal 6.8km one as it's so sunny

yeah like pabs says - it's handy having it on your phone - got music, i like the updates i get from Jessica Ennis , and the feedback after the run with different charts, stats and scores is good.

i'm glad i've logged my run now cause looking at the table has fired the competitive side in my belly.

there is no way i am going to do big big runs, as playing footy twice a week takes it out of me, but i don't like seeing me towards the bottom of the list - so i'm defo going to do at least another 3km tonight!

Another 3km will put you...erm....3rd bottom, so still towards the bottom of the list

but yes i know - but at least i'll move up a place and with Alex's aids at the moment, i could get away from him for a bit

i know i don't have the time or the energy to go and do 2x 10km runs a week, so i know i'm never going to be near the top of the table....

my point was more - come the end of the month, i do not want to see myself in the table still on 3.11km

due to my very being in the table it will ensure that i get more regularly so that i don't look like a lazy fat ******* amongst my peers.

i will be looking to do around 3km mid week and a 5km each weekend for the rest of the month which will see me on around 30km + for the month - if i get there and i'm bottom so be it, but i'll be pleased i've done something

I'm only messing with you. I can't play football these days (ankle problems) so running is my only real form of cardio. I'm sure with the amount of football you play you rack up the miles too.

Still I reserve the right to bait you whenever I feel like, because it's a lot of fun
