    Thats what I am hoping.

Just getting it into the routine now. Wont be giving up when I get there. My bigger goal of 25 minute 5k is the ultimate one.

I was hoping for 50k this month, which I could achieve, providing I go out tonight and then twice more Thursday and Friday.

I think you should also aim to do a 10km this year. I think that's very achievable for you. The 5km in 25 minutes thing is going to be a lot tougher.

The 10k in 50 minutes is the goal I have next in my mind, but I think thatll be harder to do.

Once I get done with this C25K I am going to sign up for some park runs around Colchester Castle. Then go from there.

But doing a 10k would be nice soon, be good to see what sort of distance I could do when I put my mind too it.

Alex, you're a lunatic. Listen to yourself. I've just told you 5km in 25 mins is a tough ask, then you mention doing 10km in 50 minutes. So the same pace for twice the distance? It's just not sensible.

You've got to be realistic . If I were you I'd be aiming for a sub 1 hour 10km at some point this year. Trust me from where you're starting from that will be a realistic, yet tough aim.

Its not something that's a short term goal man

Its something to eventually aim for.

First is to knock off the first target. Then work up and try my hand at longer distances. Once I get to 5k in 25, its about improving my endurance and stamina.

I'm doing the Great Manchester Run in May. I'm looking to go under 55 minutes, anything near 50 minutes and I'd be ecstatic!

50 minutes is a great time. I just think for Alex, who's only starting out, he should have more realistic aims to start with. Otherwise when he finishes his first 10km in 59 minutes he'll be disappointed rather than elated.

Still he won't listen, so **** him

                  **** him!

Id be back flipping with delight in doing a 10k in an hour at the moment.

Got to have a long term goal though. Thats where I failed before Pobs.

Classic Fake. Always wanting me to fail.

I did my first 10k last year doing the Great Manchester Run. Great atmosphere - 30,000 runners. Flat course as well, so good for a decent time. Just remember to gob on Old Trafford and show the five fingered salute as you run past.

I managed 56 minutes which I was pleased with. I've brought my 10K pb down to 53 minutes since then and hoping to get close to the 50 minute mark by the end of the year.
