Just back from a 6km. Not very good though, lungs burning as if I'm coming down with something and my left knee also started letting me know it wasn't happy. Going to leave for a few days now.

Back out again tonight after my day from hell yesterday.

Been convinced by my cousin to sign up for a half marathon in September. So I have something else to aim for now too

21 and a bit kilomometers Alex? Twenty one and a bit. That's at least two hours worth of running? Are you up for that?

Of course you are mate! It'll be hard though, but you'll get yourself in good shape training for that.

I expect you to be posting 100km months in this thread come the back end of the Summer

I'm off for another run later. I'm aiming for an ambitious 33km this week to get of to a good start this month.

Plenty of time mate. Remember, if you can run 9 miles then you can run 13. Piece of piss!
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Getting more comfortable with the distance. I am really pleased with the progress. Now I just want more.

Good work all round so early in this month folks - I love this thread!

For me, today was the same plan as last night but did two more laps so 4.7k added. Have to say that I'm really enjoying the interval thing again - it's really pleasing to accelerate for a bit, be out of breath but feel yourself getting it back and going for it again.

Brutal session with the club tonight. Flat out legging it around an industrial estate 9 x 0.3 miles at 5:50 - 6:00/ mile pace with 70 seconds recovery followed by a steady trot. I feel like I'm bleeding inside my chest!

Well done everyone, especially Alex who's come on leaps and bounds, you're doing great, keep it up!

Rest day for me today. I like the idea of this interval training, I think I might try to implement it into my running every now and then going forward

2 days in a row out running and for the first time ever I have a blister on my foot.

Any idea what I should do with it? Its not big, but itll be annoying if I do nothing I think.

If you're going to pop it use a needle and be very careful. Have a tissue ready to drain the gunk.

I messed up once with a blister from running. Tried to make a teeny tiny whole with a pair of scissors as I couldn't find a needle. In the end the whole grew bigger and it was agony to walk on for a few days
