A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Really great temperature to run at last night - definitely pretty cool/cold evenings. 10km down but was a struggle towards the end. Slight upper thigh chaffing this morning...

Been doing superset routines this week in the gym and I can hardly move I'm so sore. No pain no gain though I have to ease off a bit though as it's the wifes birthdya on Sat and I plan in getting my end off so I want to be able to actually move and enjoy it rather than lie down like a sack of spuds as I would be too sore to move. Plus being too sore will mean I'm less likely to paw at her until she relents.

First 10km done in absolutely ages too, so it feels good to get it out of the way. Fitness is starting to improve again but I can't seem to shift any weight at all which is bothering me a lot.

10.1km. Not making much progress with my speed though.

Achilles is still a bit squeaky. I can feel it creak on hills but it's not getting much worse. Plantar has moments of hellish kickback but in the main it's been much better since I started wearing insoles. It's staggering how much speed I've lost in 3 months though (although I did chuck in a 6 minute mile for a bit of fun tonight).

Did an awesome 3 mile break out in between the steady run. We've a 3 mile route worked out and two people go off in opposite directions. When they meet they rest for a minute then bomb it back the other way. I got paired with my mate, kate who is about the same speed as me over 5k so it ended up being a ridiculous race at the end. Quality stuff though

How is the half training coming on? Hit 9 miles?

A 6 minute mile is a fair lick.

Training is going OK but no longer run done yet. Need to get at least one in over the weekend and then build from there, as I've only got a month left.

think we've time to bank 400 between the two of us? 500 might be too much of a push now
