I don't have much in the way of carbs tbh, very protein heavy.

I mentioned what I did for Shaggy as he said...
I'm too ****in skinny ....just wasting away. I'm gonna start eating better, but - cringe - I want to bulk up a bit
He'll bulk up a bit to start with. I'm not saying to eat carbs all the time until you're a fat cunt. Perhaps for the firs few weeks when he will see the best gains....as all first timers do...in the first few weeks/months.
    Cheers

So if I carry on doing the workout Fierce posted before - about 15-20 mins a day, say 4-5 times a week, I should see some results sooner or later?

That's about a year or so difference but 6 months of that year were fairly lazy months and I ate whatever I wanted, kebabs, chinese take-away etc.

        ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shaggy, I managed to do this in about 3-4 months...nearer 4 months tbh. I had my wedding to go through. It was to be in shape for my wedding that got me started...along with a "you're getting fat" barb from my wife

If you put your mind to it you can get really good gains fast to give your own ego a nice boost. Seeing the difference really spurs you on to do more. If you persist for a few weeks you'll see...and feel....a difference. It won't happen overnight, nor will you see anything for 2 weeks, but take a few pics at the start and then after 3 weeks and you'll notice changes, 6-9 weeks you'll really feel and notice changes. By 12-16 weeks you'll be buying different clothes
        Cheers

Haha. Awesome ....that's a hell of a ****in difference

Cheers man. I suppose they all say the start is the hard part...I've done one 15 minute workout (yesterday) and I'm still sore FFS. Gonna go again tomorrow and aim for 4-5 a week for a few weeks and then re-evaluate.

If I can be arsed like

It sounds straight forward but you'll probably NOT be arsed doing it but if you take another 5 mins JUST TO STRETCH at the end of exercise, you won't be in as much pain the next day. No dipping, pushing, lifting, etc...no exercise...just stretching your muscles, it'll help you feel better the next day.

....keep at it and you'll be buff as **** for your friend/wannabegirlfriend in no time
            Cheers

Shaun T (always on Sky in the early hours) has quite a few, some for only 20 mins a day, most don’t require equipment, although they might be a bit hard going. At the very least, it would give you an idea of different exercises, proper form and give you an indication before you spend money if you could really be arsed seeing this through. Not that I doubt you will, but I think most of us go through these phases and end up with all sorts of weights and benches in our houses that get used about once a year (I dusted the cob webs off mine last week ).

Alternatively, there are also plenty of free apps to download to give you a guide.
I'm doing his Insanity DVD at the mo, it is ****ing insane I can confirm. Thought I was decent fitness wise when I started this then could barely complete the warm up without stopping and felt sick the first few times. Am fine now though and am enjoying the improvements and toning up. The second month is absolutely brutal so started the first again just after christmas, wont do any harm. Strangely addictive! My mum got me px90 for christmas, not looking forward to that one, my arms are my weak points, you think you are reasonably strong until you try some of this stuff and it has you on the floor in a puddle of sweat after a few mins!

                      Oh and Good luck Shaggy!

Haha, I’ve never tried them as I know I wouldn’t have the will power to get through a session, I can just about labour through a gym session.

My brother did like the T20 (or T25) one though, and Mrs Reet got the Hip Hop Abs one as she hated going to our gym, so she much preferred that. Bother were either downloaded for free or under £5.

I definitely wouldn’t be able to motivate myself at home as I’ve found out in the past, but if I wasn’t a member of a gym and if I didn’t have any equipment, I’d definitely look at a few of them to begin things cheaply.

P90x is a home workout but you need some sort of dumbells/weights

Insanity is brutal too, I did it for a while before it done my hip in and had to stop.

For me the main thing isn't working out...it's the diet that's the hardest bit to do.

Same here, I enjoy my food far too much

I seen some girl leave our gym the other day - she's kind of chubby - and walk straight across the road and get a takeaway pizza don't get it!

                              I'm the opposite with food.

I have no problem with dieting or managing my calorie intake at all, I just switch off and don't think about it, I could fast for days with minimum effort.

Booze is another matter though, it's harder to give up, so I find I do a combination of eating well, fasting, dieting, then overindulging on crap and booze at weekends. Probably not the healthiest approach, but it works from the outside.

Fasting is actually bad for losing weight. Your body goes into starvation survival mode and stores fat...burns muscle tissue instead. You'll lose weight but you lose size and shape by fasting too much
