Thanjk you.

I've been meat and booze free since the 1st but only for a monthly I am eating fish though. I'm not doing it for any other reason other than to see if I can but I have just started to notice I feel more awake in the evenings and less bloating.
I thick gloopy soup fills me up for ages. Last night I made veg fajitas without the chicken and a homemade seasoning & Day before spinach and chickpea curry. Tonight I've done a butternut squash soup with chilli for tomorrow while I roasted the other half and made a dhal curry which I'm putting the lumps of roasted squash in. It's ****ing delish . The squash roasted adds texture and could be a meat substitute I suppose but I really am not missing eating meat.
Lunch time is more challenging if you are on the go as supermarket sandwiches are horrid and taste like cardboard so I've found sushi and it's always on offer as no one buys it
I am surprised at how easy it's been. I'm struggling hard tonight on the alcohol front but I'm not giving in
Hey Boogs
Did you go through any withdrawals in the beginning? Interested to see you feel more awake and less bloating. Nice recipe ideas too. Are you thinking about eating less meat once the month of no meat has finished?

No withdrawals as such other than walking past a greasy spoon and smelling the bacon cooking in the morning
The wife would get really bloated and at first I thought it might be the portion sizes but we were just eating so much meat. We reduced the quantity of meat to 5 days and and after a meat filled Christmas thought we'd do a month along with booze.
Mrs Boogs hasn't bloated once since we cut out meat and in February think we will probably go down to 2 days of meat only. You have to be inventive with your ingredients but I enjoy cooking so I find pleasure where a lot of people find pain
Something like spag bol i do a homemade tom sauce from cherry toms and red wine vinegar reduced to a thick sauce and put red and yellow peppers, mushrooms, sweet corn, garlic courgette sliced with a potato pealer so they are thin and serve. It's really good. Think of a normal dish but use veg instead of meat.

We still need to talk about the turkey mince.
Was it a cry for help?

Reason: Light hearted
Your spag bol recipe sounds delicious. I may give it a try. Replace meat with veg. Got it. Thanks Boogs.
For Saveloy and Kenneth, what's wrong with turkey mince? I've seen some good things about it. As long as you season it with some salt, pepper, maybe some curry powder, it's ok. I prefer usual mince, but even the leaner stuff is quite fatty. I wouldn't say it was a cry for help.

This would be really good with some minced beef and some fried bacon bits included in the recipe.....
The bottle of Amarone is finished. What should I have now....decisions...decisions....

I wasn't being fair. I admit that Phoenix and I'm sorry.
The quest for lean meat is an admirable one. :handshake : Although you might as well go quorn for all the flavour you're getting

Why on gods green earth would you want to reduce the amount of animal fat you consume?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet
Can't do without my meat intake for protein. Went and grilled bacon strips until they were a little bit crispy, blitzed the rashers into small bits with some light fat mayo, makes for a seriously good topping for a slice of toast or spread on chicken fillets to give them some flavour.
Week 2 of my regime is over so I'm half way done. Next weigh in is Monday evening so I'm expecting (hoping) to have lost another inch from the waist whilst keeping the other areas the same size (Bicep, Chest and Thighs) I feel like I've lost weight...after that amount of HIIT I know I have, just a case of how much.
I've noticed my cardio has improved and I'm not as out of breath as I was before I started this plan. Weekends are a god send as I can eat more freely (without going for a kebab obviously) and I have 2 days no training to recover and get ready for monday and the start of week 3
