But, and for me it is a big but, it's resistence levels are quite low and it is, imo of course, more suited to a regular woman working out than a man (though more thinking of a larger man) as a result.

The max resistence level is between 95kg and 100kg which is too low for me. Was not a big fan of the exercise programmes that came with it either, but that is probably more down to me having my own tried and tested (for me) sets and programmes.

I much prefer a more old school analogue set up and have such in my home gym is set up that way, but a lot more space is needed for such and the GM 2 on the other hand does cram an awful lot of uses into very little floor space.

You also cannot connect spotify or Tidal to it for work out playlists. Think Apple and Amazon music can connect to it.

So you would have to decide yourself based on your own upper limits. If it is to be a shared piece of kit that you and your other half use and the upper resistence level is not an issue, then there is very little "wrong" with it.

As for justifying the cost...well only you know how much genuine use you (and maybe others in the household) may get out of it. Plenty of use and it would be worth the money.

I'm planning for old age so it will be more for conditioning than bulking up. 100kg sounds ample for me

But if a max resistence of 100kg or less is fine, then would struggle to pick many other "faults" with it.

The lifts are really smooth. The safety features allow you to turn off the weight/resistence until you get back into position. It takes up very little room.

My only bug bear with it would be not being able to use spotify but that is a nothing issue really.

The text underneath where my avatar would be then. Is that a signature?

It sounds safe enough for you. I've a squat rack and bench already, as well as bike etc (including washing machine and dryer in my gym/garage and to my chagrin, a growing collection of toys, not man ones either).

In terms of music i just fire bluetooth from my watch/phone/laptop to a bluetooth speaker. It's plenty good enough.

I'd use it as an accessory to free weights but when i've a spare 3k to drop on something frivolous i'll probably just go on holiday instead.

Good to see my hard earned money will go to good use Norbs. I expected it to be thrown at strippers & prostitutes . I’ve logged this with the Cyber Fraud Dept so enjoy it while you can.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I completed my first Parkrun at the weekend

It was a mix of walking and running but I completed it and I have my first time which I can now aim to beat!

Well done. A friend from London is into his 100’s of PR’s now & did several while over here in Oz recently. He got another friend to do the Sunshine Coast one with him a year ago & that friend has gone on to do a 1/2 marathon since then.

Nice! I've entered the Ultra Trail Australia race in May 2026 - I'm doing the 11km trail race so I have 7 months to get ready for it!

I took the dog over the road to the lake just now.

I let the dog out in the garden but we're mid-storm Jane so I stood indoors

You sent the dog outside in the middle of a storm ? What sort of person are you ?
