Thing is though, he is absolutely right. You don't win anything with robots. All our best players have been mavericks, people unafraid to speak their mind. Dobell could be talking about anyone from Boycott to Botham to Willis or Gower or Flintoff. None of our best players have ever been yes men because it's not in the makeup of great players.

You'd hope so.Originally posted by Alex View PostIf that's the case, then surely we will just offer up Root, Bell, Ballance, Robson and Ali for a bowl. No chance of a result, so no point in driving our lads into the ground. Apparently Cook is the worst bowler in the side. Runs like a discombobulated clown.

They do and yet he's only captained Yorkshire once and was, by all accounts, hopeless.Originally posted by Alex View PostGuess this is the 'exciting cricket' that they promised.
On a positive note, we have a real player on our hands with Root eh. He can lead our batting line up for the next 10 years easily. Fantastic player. Most acknowledge him as being our next long term captain.

Root should be nowhere near the captaincy at the moment, not for a good few years of being in and around the test arena and hopefully with a different coach and captain than the two muppets we've got currently.
As unlikely it is to happen and Cook actually falls on his sword (or the ECB pushing him) I'd like to see Bell given a go
