Alastair Cook should be removed as England captain and replaced by Middlesex's Eoin Morgan, according to former skipper Michael Vaughan.

Cook has not made a hundred in 27 innings and has overseen nine Tests without a victory.

"It is probably the right thing for him, the person, to be taken away from the England captaincy," Vaughan told BBC Test Match Special.

"Morgan has fresh eyes, a new approach. It can't be any worse."

i really like morgan - not sure if he has it in to be captain tho - but i agree, it can't be any worse and there is no stand out candidates

i posted in here ages ago - the team looks completely shot and that we'd be better off just dropping everyone for a 'rest' and let them get their mojo back and have played the summer giving some new faces a few games

Morgan's just not a good enough player unfortunately. Ideal bloke for a captain but not a good enough player.

Huge wicket there, Ali and Root really ruffled up by this short pitched over. Just as things were starting to change, India will now have some momentum. I'm surprised that happened to Ali, expected it'd be more likely to have been Root. Great tactics there from Dhoni. Thought both players batted well, but India will definitely back themselves here.
