No sign of him jacking it then.

      **** off FFS.
You must also be delighted with his support of Prior

Him going on about scoring runs is cringeworthy.

Athers didn't go easy on him though, some nasty questions to field there, hilarious.

Told you chaps that if IShant is taking wickets you got no chance at all.

His test average is 38. Test bowling average of 38

They're ****in bosom buddies, it's pathetic!

Can't listen to Cook anymore. Or Prior, with their management speak delivered by mimicking Flower.

Geoffrey Boycott, Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special

"Only Alastair Cook, his wife and family want him to remain as captain - nobody else. He's being stubborn and it's going to take six wild stallions to drag him out of that job. It's not about Alastair's feelings, it's about the England cricket team. He sees it as a sign of weakness to give it up. It's not - it's a sign of strength. He thinks it's all going to come right when he scores some runs. It's not."
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Ex-England captain Michael Vaughan on Test Match Special
"It's been absolutely pathetic from England. What was said in the dressing room at lunch? To come out and play all those shots, it's ridiculous. We've seen some collapses in the last year - against Australia, Sri Lanka and now India - but this is the worst of the lot. Something has got to change."

Think he'll get the rest of this series to try and turn things around

England's next test series isn't until next April I think. There is something in the idea of letting Cook finish this series, and then spend the next few months going through a decent process to find the best possible replacement. At least that way we're not pushed into a rushed decision.

Yea, it's the World Cup in between. Which he will be heavily involved in.

That's what I thought and made that point to George Dobell only to be completely shot down when he pointed out his record as captain at Middlesex haha!

Ha. Really? Oh well. He's definitely a 'think outside the box' type but if his record's **** then maybe not. Haha.

                              One down...

Matt Prior has stepped away from the England team for the rest of the summer due to injury.

Wicket-keeper Prior is expected to go under the knife to try and sort out his ongoing Achilles problems, although he is also suffering with a right quad and right hand injury too.

“I'm not doing justice to myself and more importantly the team and that is what matters first and foremost,” said an emotional Prior.

“I tore my quad before the first Test and my right hand has been beaten to a pulp, but the main issue is the Achilles.

“Now we have the time, I want to be pro-active about how we deal with it so I imagine that I'll have an operation.

“I've always said as long as I can do my job I will manage the pain and get on with it, but it has now got to the point where I can't do my job to the level I expect of myself.”

Jos Buttler is likely to be called up into the third Test squad for the Ageas Bowl later today, but Prior is determined to regain his fitness and challenge for his place next year.

For now though he accepts that with 79 Test caps to his name he may have played his last game for England, and with a heavy heart is unable to play his role in the rebuilding of the team.

He added: “It is a huge decision and not one I've taken lightly obviously because I could have played my last game.

“Playing for England is the greatest honour you can have in the game and that is my motivation to come back and try and play again in the best possible condition.

“I've made my decision for the good of the team and whoever comes in I genuinely wish them the best of luck and hope they go well and perform and help the team win. That is all I want.

“If that happens and I don't play again, then that was my lot. I'll be disappointed because there are a few things that I wanted to achieve and thought I would, but I can also look back and know I did some pretty good things.”

He's been a great player for us but his time was up last summer. After his heroics in New Zealand he's done **** all.
