I hope England lose tonight so Moores is sacked.

An absolutely incredible effort from Sri Lanka trying to chase down 374. They need 100 or so from the last 10.

Both innings illustrating exactly why England are not a force in 50 over cricket.

It was up there with Hodgson at Liverpool in terms of it been a glaringly obvious poor appointment doomed to failure.

I watched the highlights programme last night. How did South Africa manage to lose against Pakistan. They needed about 2 per over and were flat bat swiping with two wickets to spare. Mental stuff

                I've jinxed them. All over.

Chandimal had to go off with injury with 10 to go and they collapsed. Unlucky. Was a valiant effort.

I hope that too now. The bigger picture is more important that what's going on this year. Total write off these last 12 months. It's a joke.

We failed to defend 309 against Sri Lanka. Think we got 300+ against Scotland too.

Interesting exert from a recent Dobell piece:

The election of Colin Graves as chairman of the ECB had added urgency to England's rebuilding project. Graves has many virtues, but patience and acceptance of failure are not among them.

After Yorkshire were relegated in the 2011 County Championship, Graves - their chairman at the time - launched a ferocious attack on the players, calling their performance "a disgrace."

Ajmal Shahzad left the club a short while afterwards, with Graves' stinging criticism ringing in his ears. If England are knocked out of the World Cup before the quarter-finals neither the players nor the coaching staff should expect the reaction to be limited to a phlegmatic shrug.

It might prove relevant, too, that Graves appointed Jason Gillespie as Yorkshire's coach. The pair retain a strong relationship, with Graves known to be a huge admirer of Gillespie's work. It would be no surprise if he were England coach before the year is out.

I would be pretty happy if Gillespie got the job.

It's a shame we haven't got a tougher test than the shambolic West Indies because a series loss immediately after a humiliating World Cup would surely see Moores gone before the Ashes (in time for a triumphant return from KP ), but I fear a comfortable win over the windies will paper over cracks and buy him time.

I wouldn't be surprised if the windies beat us.
