Michael Johnson doing well to be so magnanimous - he must be a bit gutted!
He's one of my favourite sports broadcasters. He's very knowledgeable but also clear and emotionally invested. He's repeatedly had to deal with records he clearly holds dear being broken by Bolt and dealt with it with dignity.

I can't work out how come he broadcasts for the BBC - he's an absolute Legend. How come he's not on US tv?
I really don't know a thing about gymnastics, but just sat here watching the news and it showed Max Whitlock's ground performance (or whatever it is) and it all looked pretty so so. The american girl that won it the other day looked great, landed better, looked more springy (I know, I know), looked head and shoulders above Max. Are the women just superior at gymnastics?
If this much funding went into it and the team came away with nothing, then it would be a waste of money. Otherwise, it's money which is spent for a specific purpose successfully.
