I just hope the winner is not a LIV golfer. From what Greg Norman was saying yesterday they will be having a LIV squad celebration on the 18th green

Feel like it's the most wide open it's been for a while. Rahm had a Tiger-esque run in Jan and Feb, then Scheffler went a bit nuts and Rory has been solid enough. I don't pay any attention to LIV so no clue about Cam Smith's form, although I read this morning Koepka won an event recently and is starting to look his old self.

Gonna rule out Scheffler as so few win it back-to-back.

Finau is a good shout and Jason Day has re-found his form finally and likes it around there.

So....... Masters week, I must admit since this whole LIV thing my interest in golf has fallen off a cliff but this Masters is different and always worth a few quid on bets.

I've not paid any attention to LIV so I've no idea how the Augusta stalwarts like DJ & Cam Smith are going...... does weakened competition act as a help or a hindrance?

Rory, Rahm & Scheffler are the form three going in here but there is always the lads who know the course going well. It's supposed to be wet so the course will be soft meaning the bigger hitters will be to the fore as putting should be easier - Tony Finau always is there or there abouts.

I'll prob go full Irish with Rory & Lowry + hedge my bets with Rahm & Scheffler and look for an outsider....... I'll do a bit of research and see

Theres 2 course there. Will be interesting to see which one they will play, or maybe both? West course is loooong, but not overly difficult. East is a bit shorter and a lot tighter, they've also added a wetlands in recently that has sucked quite a few Titleist V1's into it

the players and LIV tend to give away loads of tickets, and some big discounts. If its your home course you might as well go.

Yeah, can see this having a bit of blowback. Only got announced last night, so we'll see how it plays out.

My old man will be going for sure. He's still a member there and watches golf a lot.

Might go have a look if I can scab a ticket, but ****ed if im paying for it.

Im just keen to see how these guys play the course. Ive always thought it was a super long course, so interested to see how they play it, and also how they go with the greens. They have a tendency to be lightning fast.

Is it true that in LIV golf you get 1 mulligan and 2 gimmes per round?

Oh yeah that thing sounds like a big gimmick. They'll play a virtual course, basically playing on a simulator. I assume it will be more fun than serious? Hard to see how it won't be a flop anyway.

In terms of Tiger and Rory, they have managed to get the PGA to hugely increase the prize funds. You can't blame the PGA for leaning heavily on Rory and Tiger, but it can't be at the expense of the other elite players (like John Rahm) who deserve to be involved in shaping the future of golf too.

I've also seen Westwood and several other LIV players refer to the DPWT as the 5th biggest tour now (as if it's smaller than the Korn Ferry tour ffs). It's nonsense but it seems co-ordinated? A bit like when all the Tories blanket claimed Boris got all the big decisions right .

It is all pathetic and very childish.

So it is a Tiger and Rory "strategic alliance" being referred to here?

All of this off the course drama is getting a bit much. Someone awesome like Rahm deserves much better than being stuck in the middle of this mess.

Rahm's 29 on the par 37 back 9 including a bogey was one of the most remarkable stretches of golf I've ever seen.

Really pleased for Lowry though, he's been knocking on the door a bit and deserved a win before the year is out.

Was thinking how the Ryder Cup prospects look a little brighter for next year.
