    Nice old day overall.

I sometimes forget how much I like parts of Galway city and Salthill is always nice for a stroll about.

Might sound odd but one of my favourite things about Galway is the waterside road about a mile or two out from Salthill (on the city side). The seaweed smell there just sets my stomach rumbling with hunger. Is such a fresh clean smell.

Did stop at the Circle K in Kilcolgan for a cuppa on the way back and managed not to message you

Galway is great, it doesn’t feel as big as it used to be and as you said Salthill side also feels quite seaside town but the traffic is a nightmare in season. I know the place you are on about and fully agree

The Burren is my fav but Connemara pushes it very close, beautiful part of the world. In my hiking days it was a fav area of mine

Agree with that. Connemara is beautiful, but the Burren has a spectacular level of purity to it that you would struggle to find so close to civilisation in any other country.

Another cracking battle between Limerick and Cork.

Weather was ace, so a nice day out at Pairc Ui Chaoimh (**** adding the Supervalu part of the name)

Still stand by my comment from when they met three weeks ago, they are the two best teams in the country and every time they meet their levels go up a notch.

Still in Uzbekistan, long journey home tomorrow….. watched the highlights. Gillane out must be worth 4/5 points to the other side

Gillane out was a blow, but playing with a man down for the final 20 to 25 mins was a bigger blow, not least due to that man being Cian Lynch.

Even with that, Limerick were in the lead with only two minutes left on the clock and Cork had to rally hard to get a win at the death.

Mad thing was that Limerick probably pinned Cork in better than they have in recent games, including the win at the Gaelic Grounds, it was just not going their way between the posts.

Good break for Clare though as they will face Limerick next with Limerick missing their two best players in Gillane (will most likely miss the Clare game) and Lynch.

Hayes strutting about with that my **** doesn't stink look on his face never fails to grate though.

Another cracker on Leeside, I’m pretty sick of Limerick tbh - they deserved it but Cork really put it up to them. Cork can’t carry the loss of Joyce, Fitzgibbon and Downey but at least 2 of them will be back for the all Ireland series where they’ll prob meet again in the final

Limerick/Cork is probably one of the best rivalries in a very long time. Have seen great individual games usually involing Limerick vs one of Clare, Kilkenny, Tipperary but as a rivalry where the two teams are so closesly matched and meet so often, I think it is difficult to top Limerick vs Cork, especially over the past 12 to 18 months.

The level both teams operate at is absolutely elite. The rest of Ireland is lucky that Munster produces such strong teams that can challenge Limerick the way they do, otherwise Limerick would have spent most of the past decade knocing the **** out of every other county even moreso than they have done.

What made the skill and pace of today's game even more impressive was the weather conditions they played in. Not sure how well it showed on tv but at the ground there was a right whipping wind and plenty of rain coming down.

Agree about the All Ireland final too. If it turns out to be any teams other than Limerick and Cork in it, it will be a shock.
