Newcastle have spent big on that parramatta half haven’t they.

Richmond beating Carlton surprised me. Thought they’d be down the bottom for a couple more seasons with such a big rebuild although it’s only round 1.
10 year contract of $13m for Dylan Brown yeah.

And Carlton led in the 1st 1/4 by 41 points

Dolphins don’t look the same side & I was surprised how easily my Titans took them apart in the trials. That’s 3 losses on the trot including that one.

Nice. I imagine it’s a great atmosphere as it’s something different over there.

Super rugby is looking competitive so far. Watched the Drua beat the chiefs and unfortunately the reds were on at a good time here but they got done by the crusaders.

Yeah the AFL round was a bit of a joke actually. I spoke to my nephew who went to LA for the opening games & he said he’s def going again next year whether the Sharks are playing or not. He loved the whole evenly.

The Roosters really were terrible but also lost Victor Radler to a HIA early on. He’ll miss round 2 due to the protocol but yeah I think they are in trouble after losing a heap of experienced talent.

Hopefully a bit of a spell down the bottom of the table. Never been a fan of the roosters.

Where do the Roosters go from here? It’s only round 1 and the season might be over!

Maybe go back to two games or three at the most or let people come and go. I’ve seen people mention magic round being three games and that’s about the max they could do.

Also how’s the weather looking SB? Just heard about the cyclone because the Lions game will be postponed. I can’t imagine a cyclone coming to Brisbane. How’s it looking for the Gold Coast?
Oh that’s weird they were saying over here the crowds were up & it was a huge success. I’ll ask my nephew when he gets back.

This morning seems to be the calm before the storm so far. Showers & gusty winds the last 2 days but they expect it could cross land between Sunshine Coast & Byron. I started a Bad Weather thread in the Chat forum.

Yeah I think the fans got what they wanted , except in the Women’s match. It’ll be Aussies vs Kiwis next year. Penrith looked hot & cold at times but to be expected & they probably deserved the win overall.

They’ll be there again won’t they. Doesn’t matter who they lose they keep going. Cronulla gave them a good game and they didn’t show a replay so I don’t know for sure but it looked like it should have been a knock on at the end but the ref didn’t call it.

Canberra looked good as well, warriors didn’t really threaten them.

I wonder how much impact the big travel and huge change in routine like that makes not just for the game but potentially for the early rounds when it’s not something any of them are used to.
