Brisbane off the bottom of the league! With two games in hand on Perth.
Must be happy SB titans in 10th having played no games ahead of teams who have played twice already.

Just saw that result. Everyone had written them off for the season already and then they beat the panthers.

I can’t remember any issues but don’t trust my memory on that. Yeah it’s a huge risk, 10 years on that sort of money is crazy hey.Originally posted by peterbread View PostWow. With what they’re paying Ponga as well they better hope they both stay fit and deliver the goods and quickly.
That’s a big gamble considering he’s not even one of the elites. I know he’s still young and unless you’re Cleary most halves nowadays don’t really consistently deliver until much later in their careers. Didn’t he also had some off field issues recently, can’t remember what exactly. Hopefully it wasn’t bathroom related like Ponga and his teammate

10 year contract of $13m for Dylan Brown yeah.Originally posted by peterbread View PostDo you think the dolphins will follow the standard post Bennett drop? It’s funny that the Bunnies solution to fix it is to bring him back. Should learn from the broncos, second time around the post exit drop is even worse.
Newcastle have spent big on that parramatta half haven’t they.
Richmond beating Carlton surprised me. Thought they’d be down the bottom for a couple more seasons with such a big rebuild although it’s only round 1.
And Carlton led in the 1st 1/4 by 41 points
Dolphins don’t look the same side & I was surprised how easily my Titans took them apart in the trials. That’s 3 losses on the trot including that one.

Nice. I imagine it’s a great atmosphere as it’s something different over there.
Super rugby is looking competitive so far. Watched the Drua beat the chiefs and unfortunately the reds were on at a good time here but they got done by the crusaders.

Yeah the AFL round was a bit of a joke actually. I spoke to my nephew who went to LA for the opening games & he said he’s def going again next year whether the Sharks are playing or not. He loved the whole evenly.Originally posted by peterbread View PostNice to have everything going again. Although that weird start to the AFL wasn’t helped by the cyclone. Don’t know why they don’t just have a normal opening round.
And there is the massive A League game coming up next weekend, the battle for the spoon!

The Roosters really were terrible but also lost Victor Radler to a HIA early on. He’ll miss round 2 due to the protocol but yeah I think they are in trouble after losing a heap of experienced talent.
