I'm not worried about Rooney and Tevez up top, neither of them have pace to burn and I don't think either of them are target men.

Plus where are SCUM getting their moula from? How can they afford to take on all this debt?
Even more debt! Trust the Times article more which says it is a loan for a year and then option to buy next yr for £35m. - That will limit them next season.

Also lets concentrate on ourselves, if we can strengthen in the right places and with the right players there is no reason why we couldn't be competing next season.
      Great post

We're strengthening our weaknesses, by signing Tevez SCUM aren't really strengthening, they're just adding to an area of their team which is well covered.

They needed a goal scorer really. Someone like Torres

        Ronaldo
        Nani
        Anderson
        Scholes
        Rooney
        Giggs
        Tevez

That is a frightening amount of attacking talent. Think how mant of our attacking players would fit in with that lot, 2, at best?
Last season for Giggs and Scholes, you can only play so many players and I suspect this will weaken them in defense - concentrating on attacking too much.

There's no two ways about it...this is a massive blow to our title chances.

I dont buy all this united are spending a lot, the hargreaves money was from last years budget as they were prepared to pay it then.

Nanis relase clause from what i read in loads of portuguese sites was 20m euros = £13m.

The only big money signing from this summers market has been Anderson at £17m. The times online link says Tevez could come on loan, and it makes sense.

If you look closely its clear the pursestrings arent wide open, they're just going on about their business in a very smart way. *****

PS. its not over yet, remember how we felt when Chelsea signed Ballack and Shevchenko....

Check Tevez and Torres' goals scored in 2007. It's not pretty.

                    Why?
Should we not think about strengthening our weak area's, he would not do this and as Red chilli has said he will not strengthen one of their weak area's.
If we get a couple of good/great wingers then there is no reason why we can't compete. Utd will not be paying us every week, if we the other teams in the league then we can win it. Why does every one forget we have to play 19 teams home and away not one team 38 times, lets hammer all the others.

I really thought the SCUM would sign a keeper. VDS looked very shakey at times last season and I think he could be the key to their season.

I actually thought they'd sign Given.

We have made Ronaldinho and Kaka look mediocre, so Tevez should not be a problem.
IMO stopping him will be about as difficult as stopping Rooney.

Yeah my thoughts, but that is Fergie, he goes with the theory that attack is the best form of defense. He doesn't do tacticts he does attack.
People forget that their highest goal scorer was Ronaldo (I think - read it somewhere so if I am wrong, sorry) and he has only shown that level of abaility for the one year - could be a purple patch.
I can not see Teves meaning they will win more games, I think that they will just score the odd extra goal in a game they would have won anyway.
I know I am being repetative but I really believe the significance will be what we do with the wingers.

Nothing on ssn about it whatsoever. I'm not convinced, WIth Nani, Anderson, Ronaldo and especially Rooney would Fergie really overload them with Tevez too? Mmmm....
