SSN are reporting that Kia is ready to hand over documents to Sheffield United that could see West Ham relegated if they refuse to release Tevez.

West Ham have rejected an attempt by Carlos Tevez to cancel his playing contract.

The club and the Premier League have also rejected a request by the Argentina striker's representatives to have his registration cancelled.

Tevez's camp want to try to re-start his transfer to Manchester United by doing the same deal that took Javier Mascherano to Liverpool.

In order to do so, West Ham would have to agree to cancel his registration but it is understood both the club and the Premier League have refused to do so.

A letter from Tevez demanding for his contract with West Ham to be terminated was received yesterday and has been rejected, as has a separate letter to the club and the League from his representatives about his registration.

It is now becoming increasing likely that Fifa will have to step in to break the stalemate.

West Ham pointed to last Friday's statement by chairman Eggert Magnusson, which stated: "Carlos Tevez is a registered West Ham player, contracted to the club until June 2010. There is no agreement with West Ham for Carlos Tevez to leave the club."

West Ham realise that if they do anything contrary to the Premier League's instructions they could be left open to further disciplinary action over third-party agreements.

Fifa say they may be prepared to step in to settle the transfer dispute - but they have yet to receive any official request to do so.

Football's world governing body can become involved if there is an international element to a transfer or if they are asked by the Football Association.

The Argentina striker's representatives are preparing to call on Fifa and the FA after his proposed move to Manchester United stalled due to the Premier League's insistence that West Ham must receive the bulk of the reported £30 million fee.

Tevez's representative, businessman Kia Joorabchian, says he owns the player's economic rights.

A Fifa spokesman said: "We have not received any official request from any of the parties involved so far.

"If we do receive a request we would then decide whether we have to look at it or if it is up to the FA to rule on it.

"The FA could also ask us for guidance and send us all the relevant information."

Manchester United have agreed terms with Tevez and Joorabchian and hoped to have everything tied up last week - but the deal has now reached an impasse.

It is understood Tevez's camp believe the Premier League can no longer act as independent arbiter in the case.

That was because of Kenyon who was on the way to Chelsea and didn't want their biggest rivals to sign Ronaldinho.

Thanks for clarifying. I thought Ronaldinho pulled out of the deal, although I do remember Fergie trying to save face sayign he was unhappy about Ronaldinho's "party lifestyle". I thought Ronnie was charmed by the laid back professional attitude at Barca where they encouraged his creativity.

It's a mess and one that the Premier League cannot solve themselves. The thing that annoys me the most is the business of players not being "owned" by clubs but by organisations. I understand the economics of South American football has enabled this but it is something that should have been stamped out by FIFA.

Ultimately I see him going to Man Utd with West Ham escaping with nothing more than a slap on the wrists. Personally I think West Ham should have been fined points but the decision to do that really needed to be taken earlier.

As expected. The PL screamed a bit so it would look like they did everything they could but in reality they wouldn't do anything at all because everything is their fault in the first place when they didn't give West Ham any point penalty.

The PL would look even more like idiots if the case went to court.

WEST HAM are ready to take Kia Joorabchian to the High Court after it emerged last night that their grip on their Premiership status could yet loosen over the Carlos Tevez affair.

The Hammers and Tevez's representative Joorabchian are locked in a bitter row over the Argentina striker's ownership, which yesterday took a new twist when Interpol, Russian billionaire Boris Berezovsky and even the Kremlin became part of the bizarre story.

While West Ham fight to show they still have control of Tevez's destiny, a Brazilian judge ordered the arrest of Joorabchian and Berezovsky amid allegations of money-laundering at Brazilian side Corinthians.

Berezovsky, living in exile in London, said: "Given the extensive comment in the Russian media and the farce of a 'trial in absentia' in the Russian courts, I have no doubt that the Brazilian story is an extension of the Kremlin's politicised campaign against me.

"I am not involved in money-laundering, nor have I been involved in any dealings connected to Carlos Tevez. I am an Arsenal fan."

And Joorabchian insists all his financial dealings were cleared by the Brazilian Central Bank, but he was wanted as a witness.

He said: "I deny any wrongdoing whatsoever. I have cooperated fully with the authorities in Brazil and have previously offered to speak to them directly, an offer that they have not taken up."

Joorabchian may be needed in court in England, with West Ham insisting the businessman and his company MSI do not have the authority to take Tevez to Manchester United.

He insists Tevez is his player and has the documentation to prove it, while Manchester United are poised to complete the signing of the player next week.

Tevez is due to arrive in Manchester on Tuesday, have a club medical the following day and be unveiled as a United player on Thursday.

If West Ham do not receive a transfer fee for Tevez they are set to be punished by the Premier League, who will view the situation as the Hammers having misled them. But Mirror Sport understands that it is the Premier League and chief executive Richard Scudamore who could be in a pickle as it was they who gave West Ham the option of unilaterally terminating Tevez's third-party agreement.

West Ham did as they were told and came to an agreement with Joorabchian which allowed them to play the striker in their final three games last season.

It is also believed that the Premier League were subsequently made aware Joorabchian was in possession of documents that confirmed his third-party ownership of Tevez, but chose not to act.
