Not sure it's ever happened...England didn't make it in 74 or 78, but Scotland were there. ROI were the only ones in 1994. 1980 Euros maybe?

Good question. It's a shocking state of affairs for British & Irish football. Embarrassing.

I reckon there will be some blame on Carson, although after the massive howler he kept England in the running at 2-1.

The FA weren't going to comment on it though were they?

No, all the players were poor, Carson wasn't any worse than Bridge.

Well, the 1st goal in any game is usually the most important, and it set the tone. They were still in shock for the 2nd, and for me he should've saved the third.

He's great when he has to be instinctive and make saves, but otherwise he's ****ing hopeless. £10m for him would be absolute daylight robbery.

I feel really, really ****ing sorry for him tonight, mind.

Aye. I work it out that 1976 was the last time....

England always seem to do that - bore the ****ing pants off everyone all the way until the last game when it all goes crackers.

A truly shocking, lamentable performance that reflects so incredibly poorly on the hapless manager.

I must confess to cheering Crouchie's goal - what a superbly taken effort. He will be buzzing now and should start alongside Torres on Saturday. He's the only one tonight who can hold his head up.

As for "Stevie G" ....I feel sorry for him. Delighted he'll be getting a break but he was so incredibly poor once again. What happens to him in an England shirt? To have a player as magnificent as Gerrard, and for him to play so consistently badly, all boils down to the manager IMO. If he can't get Gerrard et al playing at anything like their normally high level, you've got no hope.

Close the door on your way out, Steve
And every saturday...and every other matchday IMO

Lethal strike partnership, everything you need, Between both, EVERY attribute is covered and Torres would orgasm on Crouch's flickons and knockdowns.

Does O'Neill still want to pay £10m for Carson? Get it off him now Rafa before the lad chucks in football and runs off to the nearest monastery to become a monk.
