Don't find it funny,no matter what you think of him I think it would be a shame if he did not get the 100 caps.

I don't get the antipathy towards Beckham - he seems like a nice bloke to me and he has been an exceptional player. He was a good England captain and probably deserves his 100th cap even if he isn't to continue in the team/squad. It would have been a nice gesture.

I’d like to know on what grounds he finds him to be “a ****”.

Ex-Manc maybe, but the bloke handles himself very well, has opened loads of academies and coaching schools for kids. He deserves some respect.

Also, he should be in the squad. Who’s a better option at this moment in time for England? Aaron Lennon? Don’t make me laugh.

          Anyone got the squad?

Bentley, Cole, SWP and possibly Young. These are players who could run and cross the ball. Obviously, not as good as Beckham but it does lead to faster ring wing.

Shaun Wright Phillips has been playing well recently.

I don't seem to be able to find the squad, yet.

Shame about Beckham too, he deserves his cap.

Wright Phillips? He’s been playing in the middle.

Bentley? Possibly, but he’s overrated and not half as good as he thinks he is.

Young has been playing on the left. His set-piece delivery is great but in open play he flatters to deceive.

                    Joe Cole???? On the right?????

Beckham obviously isn’t the future but he’s still better than the pretenders and deserves his 100th cap. Some will argue there’s no room for sentiment in football but when you’re talking about such a fine servant, then I think there is room for this sort of thing.

Yeah but he's not been playing on the right.

I haven't seen the squad but after this friendly I would probably drop Beckham. He hasn't played any competetive football in ages.

I think he is also another problem for the manager as his style is unique and other members of the team have to be fitted round him. In the past he was more than good enough as a player and leader to justidy it now he is on the wane I would give others a chance. It depends on the style of play we go for but I agree with Ben Tover that depending on the system used Young and Lennon would be good calls. SWP has been much better in recent matches at CM than he has been for ages on the wing so he wouldn't be in contention IMO whereas I would look at Abonglahor if we went for a 4-3-2-1 type formation.

Yes he has been playing the midfield but his best position is right wing, likewise Bentley.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Godfather adds Agbonlahor to his squad. He seems to be a fan of his

Why is SWPs best position the one where he has been crap all season? He has only been any good in the middle this season. In fact he has had aprroximately 5 good games on the wing in two years and roughly the same no of good games he has put in in his last five games as a CM.
