You could but I think history will probably judge him as more significant than most of us, including Beckham..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Take away the fanfare and you've got a player who hasnt played a game for a couple of months so no, he shouldn't be considered for the squad on that basis but he is a good professional and he didn't have to go and train with Arsenal.
A good decision from Capello and people will realise he wont pander to the media. If Beckham wants another cap, he'll need to earn it.

He moved to america to keep his stick insect of a wife quiet, and in doing so ruined any chance he had of being picked for England regularly, and the fact he went training with the arsenal reserves is too little too late! fair play to capello for being his own man and not listening to sly sports...I don't care as long as we finish above the blue ****e

One IN THE FACE of all those goon Crouch-haters who said Capello wouldn't pick him. Yet another top manager who rates him.

Interesting keeper selection. the first two were odds on but Kirkland is a bit out of left field - not that I have watched him that much of late.
How the **** has Davies got in the squad?
Interesting selection of Jermain Jenas - another top manager rates him. He has improved of late but where I still don't see how you fit him into a balanced formation and I'm unconvinced he is any good at all. He looked promising at first at Newcastle but I've not seen anything in him to suggest class in the last three years."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

It's poor.

despite it being poor i don't think it's much worse than alot of other big countries out there. Italy won the world cup and didn't have the best team, far from it their squad wasn't as good as france, or spain let alone brazil. with the right coaching right mentality and a compactness to the team that hasn't been there before i reckon they have a good shot at making things happen.Originally posted by Neil Young View Post
