Our reserve home games take place in Warrington these days.Originally posted by alunevans View Postas rafa has constantly said, the reserve league is a joke. if we were in my dad's day, we'd all be going to see the ressies cos the central league was great.
besides, doesnt it take place in wrexham?
i appreciate you don't like the idea.
As for the AFC Liverpool idea I think its a good idea. There will be a lot of people disillusioned with the business that is football these days that would happily welcome a return to grass roots football. My old man is one of them. He gave up following Liverpool for this saem reason many moons ago.

in a recent poll here 38% of locals on the site said they'd go along and watch it, so its not that silly an idea and clearly has a lot of interest.Originally posted by Marc. View PostJust can't understand how this can be stickied. One of the biggest Liverpool forums on the net and promoted is a website with a silly idea to establish well a splinter club! disapointing really.
its certainly not as silly an idea as handing the ownership of the club to people who know nothing about football, paying a mere footballer £150,000 a WEEK, or playing an additional league game in Outer Mongolia for the cash.
not as disappointing either.

That's the way i feel. There IS, & there always WILL ONLY BE 1 Liverpool Football Club. Surely that's how it MUST be. Under ANY OTHER name or being, LIVERPOOL FC. for ever.Originally posted by TheRedDragon View PostSorry... I too hate the idea. It smells of following what the Mancs did.
I understand that it is not meant to be portrayed as a brake away from the current LFC, how ever IMO that's the impression I get.... Where better then the Mancs I do not wish to follow in there footsteps....
If I have given the wrong impression to others then I appoligies, this is just MY OPPINION.

Of course there is only one Liverpool FC.Originally posted by REDrascal View PostThat's the way i feel. There IS, & there always WILL ONLY BE 1 Liverpool Football Club. Surely that's how it MUST be. Under ANY OTHER name or being, LIVERPOOL FC. for ever.
But that doesn't stop Liverpool fans having grassroots clubs to support too. And what better grassroots club to support than one which is run by fellow Reds. It's as simple as that.

more the latter i'd say. its not so much born of protest but born of the fact that the greed and the disregard for fans in the modern game tarnishes it a bit, and to get those old school aspects that make footy great too it seems we have to go elsewhere to get it. so here's where.
it's for those of us who have decided we want grassroots footy in our lives too. and what better grassroots side to support than one owned and run by liverpoool supporters.
i refer to it as lfc's independent little brother. i don't see it as an anti lfc project at all. but it will be a grassroots alternative for those who miss the old values and want a way to experience them again, and for those priced out of the game - kids like my nephew who has only been to the match a handful of times despite being footy mad and grown up now.

i REALLY need people to get involved in a steering group if this is to happen by the way so i renew my call for volunteers.
i know people want this to happen and would go along to the games once it existed, but people will have to demonstrate that they want it enough to get involved and make it happen or else the idea will die a death
