Nah I know what you are getting at. But these footballers have a responsibility. I don't see every other footballer getting in fights when they go out, and I'm sure the majority of them get plenty of stick from opposition fans. Yes there are isolated incidents, but unfortunately that is just not that case with Barton is it? Time and time again.

Barton should be ****ed off out of the game; there is ALWAYS the option to walk away.

The guy was 16 and Barton was in a group of 3 two of them being in their mid/late 20s.

"Outside the restaurant, the rows continued and Barton was caught on CCTV knocking an unidentified man to the ground. He then punched him four or five times as Wilson threw food at the victim before Barton punched him up to 15 times more.

Minutes later, the player attacked 16-year-old Jordan Spencer, punching him in the mistaken belief the youth had slapped Wilson. The punch broke a number of Mr Spencer's teeth. Wilson and Andrew Barton also became involved in the violence."

Poor old Barton was just getting picked on

My point is that we don't know the details, we just see the video and hang him. Someone in the thread even mentioned his brother being convicted of murder! Its nonsense comments like this that piss me off. I don't even like the little ****!

One of them has a chronic illness and one of them is a proven, repeat offender thug.

                    Not even remotely comparable cases.

It isn't that cut and dry. Gazza had early form, I seem to remember him beating his wife years ago, before he was diagnosed with his mental illness.

In ten years time Barton could be in the same boat, he needs his head sorting out now. A witchhunt won't help anybody.

Gascoigne was diagnosed with his illness (the other illness - not alcoholism) at aged 7. He'll have done well to beat his wife up then.

Ok, but what results do you think a thorough psychological analysis of Barton would throw up?
