Absolutely no idea. Anger issues probably.

If Barton has issues it's probably anger management.

They're two wildly different cases. Barton's "problems" have surfaced while still reaping the benefits and priveleges of being a professional footballer. Gascoigne's (very different) issues, for the most part, came to the fore largely after he'd finished playing.

Yep. Church Street wasn't it? Even I know to avoid it round there at silly o'clock. What's Barton's excuse? Simple - he hasn't got one. The bloke's an absolute prick.

This is the surprising thing - I saw an interview with him once and he came across as pretty articulate for a footballer. Certainly smart enough to know what's right, what's wrong and what's downright ****ing stupid. He's had more than enough chances IMO and his continual thuggery is inexcusable.

He's had problems for years, but the press have always painted him as the lovable teary-eyed geordie, who just happened to beat his wife.

Barton is just a dirty little scouser, with a murderous family. A Daily Mail special.

ay - thats my main issue with the whole thing - wtf is a millionaire professional footballer doing at a notorious spot for drunken trouble at silly o'clock. He just shouldn't be there, he's a prick for puttting himself in that position imo. It's not like he can't go out and have fun etc ****ing hell with his money, he could have booked into a hotel and said to his mate -"i ****ing fancy a maccy d's - here ya are - he's £100 run down and get everyone a big mac for us, I'll wait here cause it will be manic down there and i can't get involved with any ****."

                  Horse**** mate, horse****.

Gascoigne has had problems for years, yes - he's received counselling since he was 7 FFS - but as I said his problems came to the fore largely after hanging up his boots. Football was always a perfect distraction for him and his problems were manageable. When he stopped playing he crashed and burned as he had no focus in his life.

i may be wrong but reports yesterday said he turned up in jeans - yeah i know he is prison - and chewing gum in the dock

                      this prick will never learn
Spot on, the fact he turned up in jeans & chewing gum tells us he's learnt **** all, he could easily have had access to a suit, the gum thing shows he still thinks he's the dogs, no respect, no morals, no brains.

He's clearly a stupid cunt, I'm just saying that he's got some issues and it would be more beneficial if the general consensus was that he got help, and not ****ing hung.

But don't most thugs have issues, don't these kids in gangs have issues, why should Barton be treated any different, at-least he had the chance to escape, to better himself. Also has he not been receiving help for the last year or so.

I'm annoyed at how the Judge has seemingly let him off, he is out next week, if he'd had that knocked back & had to stay in for another 6months maybe he'd feel like he's not so important, he deserved 3months for what he did to a team mate.

His defence solicitor would have explored this to get him a better deal if their barrister had thought it an area worth exploring. Clearly nothing mentally wrong with him or else he might have got off with a suspended sentence the first time round.

The general consensus is he is a repeat offender that never learns. Believe it or not such people do exist. You can’t help a person who does not want to be helped. You punish them when they do wrong, which is why the Judge was an idiot to give him a suspended sentence when he was already doing time for another offence.

I see such people every day. They keep me in a job.

The difference between him and Gazza is that Gazza actually IS mentally ill and his symptoms have been intensified by his addiction to alcohol. Barton apparently has no mental illness. He is not sick, he’s just vile

He obviously gets more stick than most when he goes out, He's only like most lads, if somebody singles you out for abuse you give him a smack.
We should send people with attitudes like this to the front line in Afgahnistan until they are disposed of.

Anyone who condones violence has no place in a civilised society
