Town rumoured to be in chase for Yeovil's ex-Liverpool right back Peltier

Jun 29 2009 By Huddersfield Examiner

Yeovil right back Lee Peltier is rumoured to be on Lee Clark's shopping list as he bids to fill the hole vacated by Andy Holdsworth.

The former Liverpool trainee, who also had a spell on loan at Hull City, was a big hit with the Glover's fans last season, making 34 appearances in the full back role, scoring one goal.

22 year-old Peltier was born in Toxteth and made 4 appearances for the Reds before a loan spell with Yeovil was made permanent in January 2008.

SSN reporting that Ribery wants to go to Madrid and has, (along with most of their targets so far) ruled out a move to Utd

Franck Ribery has told Bayern Munich that he wants to leave the club and join the new generation of 'galacticos' at Real Madrid.

The France international has been at the centre of a long-running saga over the past six months, with Real and Premier League champions Manchester United chasing his signature.

Bundesliga runners-up Bayern have remained adamant that they will not be selling £30million-rated Ribery, but their star asset has now announced his desire to move away from Germany.

The 26-year-old wants to follow Raul Albiol, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in agreeing a big-money, summer move to the Bernabeu, delivering another transfer blow to United.

Sir Alex Ferguson was thought to want Benzema, but the Frenchman has snubbed Old Trafford and is on the verge of moving to Spain, and Ribery looks set to do the same.

      Evolve
"I have made up my mind, I want to leave," Ribery told L'Equipe. "It will be Real or nothing.

"I am waiting to see how things will evolve. Then, I would like to have a talk with Bayern's hierarchy."

But Bayern's general manager Uli Hoeness insists that Ribery's announcement does not alter their stance.

He said: "Franck wants to join Real? That doesn't change anything to us. Real never did us any concrete proposition.

"The Real officials wanted to come to Munich, but we told them it was useless and they should save some plane tickets.

"We don't need their money, and we will keep Franck come hell or high water."

AC Milan To Sign Portsmouth Striker Peter Crouch?

            Goal.com Jul 1, 8:37 pm EDT
AC Milan continue their search for a striker and with Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko looking likely to stay in the Bundesliga they must look at other options.

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been mentioned, but another Premier League possibility is Portsmouth hitman Peter Crouch, according to Studio Sport.

The English international will likely leave Fratton Park this summer, but is waiting to see who the club appoint as their new coach before making a definitive decision.

The 28-year-old scored 15 goals in all competitions for Portsmouth in 2008-09, after three inconsistent seasons with Liverpool.

Rossoneri vice-president has claimed that the club are looking for a capable target man, but the fans would be unlikely to view Crouch is a viable option in completing the attack after losing superstar Kaka to Real Madrid this summer.

Chelsea reject £30m City bid for JT
              [Team Talk]

Chelsea have rejected a £30million offer from Manchester City for John Terry and warned Mark Hughes not to bother making an improved bid.

Chelsea rejected the offer out of hand on Thursday evening and, although they did not reveal the money on offer, it is believed to be a massive £30million.

However the London club sought to end any further interest by saying they would "not entertain any conversation on the subject".

The news comes as the latest rebuff for City, who have already had a bid to sign Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o knocked back this summer.

City made an offer for the 28-year-old defender last season when they encountered similar short shrift from the Blues, who have reiterated the England captain's desire to stay at Stamford Bridge.

"We can confirm we have completely rejected an offer from Manchester City for John Terry," a statement on the club's website read.

"It was made clear to City, for a second time following an approach last season, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject.

"At the time John also reiterated his total commitment to Chelsea.

"We would like to make it clear, and will not do so again, that John is not for sale."

Terry has made no secret of his commitment to the Chelsea cause and is relishing the challenges next season will bring under their new Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti.

"Next season we need to make sure we start a lot better than we did last year and really push for the Premier League because I would love to win that trophy again, as well as being back in the mix for the Champions League," the England captain said.

"It is important that we realise Ancelotti is going to be here for a good few years, he is going to bring in his own players, staff and training methods.

"We need to adapt to that and move Chelsea in the right direction."

Ancelotti is Chelsea's fifth manager in the space of two years.

Terry added: "The players have coped with it very well [having so many managers].

"It is important that we get a bit of stability under Ancelotti for two or three years.

"We must get a settled team and a settled manager and really build and move things in the right direction."

                    United send Possebon to Portugal
                    [Team Talk]

Manchester United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon has joined Sporting Braga on a season-long loan after a tough first season at Old Trafford.

Possebon, 20, has found his first-team opportunities limited since moving to England from Internacional in January 2008, the Brazil-born Italian making just three starts and five substitute appearances last season.

Braga finished fifth in Portugal's Liga Sagres last season and will be taking part in the 2009/10 Europa League, formerly the UEFA Cup.

United announced the move in a statement on their club website late on Thursday.

He'd be a good signing for them.

**** it, if Arbeloa goes I'd have Finnan back as cover for Johnson.

                              Brede eyeing Cottage exit

                              6/07/2009 Football Spy [Mirror]

Brede Hangeland's Fulham future is in doubt after the Norway centre-back rejected an offer to double his wages.

Manager Roy Hodgson last season said they would "fight tooth and nail" to keep Hangeland (left). But the 28-year-old has turned down a new four-year deal which would have paid him £30,000 a week instead of the £15,000 he earns now.

Fulham are in talks to sign Poland international Pawel Brozek. The striker's 42 goals have been a major factor in Wisla Krakow's back-to-back domestic title successes.
